Justin De Fratus picks up win Tuesday

(9/9/2014) Phillies pitcher Justin De Fratus earned a win Tuesday, giving up two hits and striking out one in a scoreless inning of work in his team's 4-3 victory over the Pirates.

De Fratus (3-1) was able to keep the Pirates at bay in the seventh inning despite surrendering a pair of two-out hits. He's surrendered just one earned run in his last 10 appearances. De Fratus owns a 2.57 ERA and 45:11 K:BB ratio in 49 innings.


Justin De Fratus takes loss Tuesday vs. Marlins

(7/1/2014) Phillies pitcher Justin De Fratus was saddled with a loss Tuesday after giving up a walkoff single in his team's 5-4, 11-inning defeat against the Marlins.

De Fratus (2-1) tossed a perfect 10th inning before surrendering a single to the leadoff batter in the 11th. After a sacrifice moved the runner into scoring position, the reliever surrendered another single to bring home the winning runn. De Fratus hadn't given up a run since rejoining the team in late May before Tuesday. He owns a 1.93 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 20:5 K:BB ratio in 23 1/3 innings.

De Fratus posted a 7.20 ERA in four appearances with the Phillies this season before being sent down in mid-April. He owns a 4.50 ERA and 13:4 K:BB ratio in 16 innings with Lehigh Valley.

(3/25/2014) Phillies pitcher Justin De Fratus pitched a scoreless inning and struck one batter out in his team's 6-0 win over the Yankees Tuesday.

It was De Fratus' first outing since March 14 as he's been dealing with the flu. He has surrendered one earned run in six innings while striking out six and walking none this spring.

(5/15/2013) Phillies reliever Justin De Fratus has pitched in two clutch situations since being promoted from the minors Saturday. He struck out Diamondbacks slugger Paul Goldschmidt in the ninth inning Sunday while earning his first win and then picked up a hold in Tuesday's 6-2 win against the Indians.

"He likes that atmosphere. He doesn't panic," Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee said Wednesday, per MLB.com. "Last year he was outstanding when we brought him in with guys on base to get us a big out. Those guys are special."

(5/11/2013) The Phillies announced after Friday night's game that pitcher Justin De Fratus has been recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He posted a 1.89 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB ratio in 19 innings over 13 relief appearances with Lehigh Valley prior to the promotion.

This will be De Fratus' third season pitching with the Phillies after making five appearances in 2011 and 13 appearances in 2012. He has compiled a 3.07 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 11:8 K:BB ration over 10 2/3 innings with the major-league team in his career.

(3/17/2013) The Phillies announced Sunday they optioned relievers Justin DeFratus and Jake Diekman to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The Phillies now have four relievers --  Phillippe Aumont, Michael Stutes, Raul Valdes, Jeremy Horst -- competing for the final three spots in the bullpen.
