Dane De La Rosa optioned to Triple-A

(6/6/2013) The Angels optioned reliever Dane De La Rosa to Triple-A Salk Lake Wednesday following an extra-inning loss to the Cubs.

De La Rosa had a 4.05 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 23 strikeouts over 26 1/3 innings for the Angels. The team is expected to replace De La Rosa with a pitcher Thursday.

(4/9/2013) With pitcher Jered Weaver now on the disabled list, the Angels have called up pitcher Dane De La Rosa.

De La Rosa was recently acquired from the Rays, and has pitched 12 1/3 innings in the majors over his career. The 30-year-old righty has been used exclusively as a reliever in his career, so he's likely not a candidate to replace Weaver in the rotation.

(3/27/2013) The Angels acquired pitcher Dane De La Rosa from the Rays on Wednesday. De La Rosa was re-assigned to minor-league camp on Saturday after allowing seven earned runs in 6 2/3 innings for the Rays this spring. The 30-year-old posted a 2.79 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 87 strikeouts in 67 2/3 innings at Triple-A Durham in 2012.

They optioned infielder Cole Figueroa, outfielder Rich Thompson, pitcher Kirby Yates, first baseman Leslie Anderson and reliever Dane De La Rosa to minor league camp.
