"It killed a lot of the inflammation," De La Rosa told MLB.com Thursday. "No concern whatsoever. I just needed to get this taken care of."

De La Rosa will be shut down for two days before trying to work his way back. He has appeared in just one game with the Angels this season, after suffering from forearm tightness in the spring. His velocity had returned prior to his should injury, and he will likely return to rehab work soon.

De La Rosa has made five appearances across three levels thus far, giving up just one hit and one walk in five scoreless innings. Manager Mike Scioscia said Wednesday it's "very possible" De La Rosa will be activated during the team's upcoming six-game road trip, which starts Friday in Toronto.
