Elvin Ramirez clears waivers, optioned to Triple-A
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com (4/25/2013) Angels relief pitcher Elvin Ramirez has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake, according to MLB.com. The move cleared a spot on the Angels' 40-man roster.
Ramirez has given up nine earned runs in eight innings at Triple-A this season while walking 15 batters and striking out four. He has a 10.13 ERA and 3.13 WHIP through eight appearances.

Ramirez, 25, allowed two earned runs in 3 2/3 innings of Grapefruit League action, striking out five. He made 20 appearances for the Mets in 2012, walking 20 batters and striking out 22 in 21 1/3 innings while posting a 5.48 ERA.
