Thompson cut from majors camp


(3/14/2011) SS Jose Carlos Thompson, 2B Jimmy Paredes, OF J.D. Martinez, RP Arcenio Leon, OF Jon Gaston, C Rene Garcia, 1B Brian Dopirak, SS Jiovanni Mier, SP Douglas Arguello, RP David Carpenter, SP Cesar Carrillo, C Koby Clemens and RP Jorge De Leon were cut from the Astros' major league camp, according to MLB.com.

Thompson already invited to camp


(1/31/2011) The Sports Xchange reports INF Jose Carlos Thompson signed a minor league deal with the Astros and, even though he's straight out of amateur baseball, Houston invited him to major league spring training.
