(9/8/2014) Making a start in right field Sunday against the Padres, the Rockies' Ben Paulsen had to leave in the sixth inning after getting hit by a pitch in the right elbow. He's considered day to day.

Ben Paulsen slugs pinch-hit home run Monday

(9/1/2014) Rockies first baseman Ben Paulsen delivered a two-run pinch-hit home run in his team's 10-9 win over the Giants Monday.

Paulsen was called upon to hit for the pitcher in the seventh inning and broke a 7-7 tie with his two-run blast. He's been fantastic in limited action with the Rockies, hitting .417/.447/.694 with two home runs and six RBI in 36 at-bats.

(8/16/2014) The Rockies have recalled pitcher Brooks Brown from the minors Saturday.

In order to make room on the roster, the club optioned infielder Ben Paulsen to Triple-A. Pitcher Tommy Kahnle was placed on the disabled list with a shoulder injury. Michael Cuddyer was activated from the DL Saturday, filling Kahnle's roster spot.

(8/10/2014) The Rockies recalled first baseman Ben Paulsen from Triple-A Colorado Springs Sunday after placing outfielder Carlos Gonzalez (knee) on the disabled list. Paulsen hit .455 (10 for 22) with two RBI in a seven-game stint with Colorado in late July.

(7/21/2014) The Rockies have recalled first baseman Ben Paulsen from Triple-A Colorado Springs prior to Monday's game against the Nationals, Denver Post reports. He is expected to take the roster spot of Justin Morneau, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list. Paulsen hit .291 with 15 homers and 57 RBI in 347 at-bats at Triple-A.

Rockies will have 24 non-roster invites in spring camp

(2/4/2014) The Rockies announced Tuesday 24 players received non-roster invites to spring training. The roster breakdown is 12 pitchers, four infielders, two outfielders and six catchers.

The pitchers are Christian Bergman, Brooks Brown, Greg Burke, Eddie Butler, Manny Corpas, Yohan Flande, Jonathan Gray, Pedro Hernandez, Chris Martin, Nick Masset, Scott Oberg and Josh Sullivan.

The four infielders are Paul Janish, Angelys Nina, Ben Paulsen and Rafael Ynoa. The two outfielders are Jason Pridie and Tim Wheeler.

The six catchers are Ryan Casteel, Dustin Garneau, Matt McBride, Michael McKenry, Tom Murphy and Jackson Williams.

Gray, Butler and Murphy are among the team's top prospects.
