Leathersich, who gave up a massive home run to Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton Monday, allowed six earned runs in 1 2/3 innings over two appearances. Church made three appearances, including throwing a scoreless inning Monday, allowing three earned runs in three innings this spring.

Puello is on the roster at Double-A Binghamton, but he will not appeal his suspension and start serving it immediately.

"We have and continue to support Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Testing program," the Mets said in a statement.

Cesar Puello 'a good player' with 'plus arm, plus accuracy'

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(7/25/2013) One scout evaluated Mets outfield prospect Cesar Puello for CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Danny Knobler. Puello is leading the Eastern League (Double-A) with a .332 batting average.

"You know, he's a good player," the scout said. "He's a good hitter, and he's a solid defender, with a plus arm and plus accuracy."

Unfortunately, Puello's named has been linked in media reports to the Biogenesis scandal, which has cast doubt over Puello's future.

"I don't know what to even put in the 'Acquire?' box," the scout said theorectically, citing his team doesn't have ongoing trade talks with the Mets involving Puello. "You don't know if he's even going to play."
