by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(4/22/2015) The Diamondbacks inserted Aaron Hill back at third base for Wednesday's contest against the Rangers. Hill will bat in the No. 5 hole, while Ender Inciarte will play in left field and bat in the leadoff spot. Yasmany Tomas received the night off.

Diamondbacks' Hale: Ender Inciarte set to play regularly

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(4/17/2015) Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale said Thursday that left fielder Ender Inciarte will play almost every day after jumping out to a hot start, MLB.com reports.

"He's going to be in there most every day now," Hale said. "The way he's played, he's forced his way in there."

Inciarte is set to fill the leadoff spot moving forward, with former leadoff man A.J. Pollock sliding down to the No. 2 spot.

"I think Pollock in the two-hole is dynamic," Hale said. "He's got a little more power and Ender has done a better job of getting on base at this point so far."

Hale said he's still try to find some playing time for David Peralta, but with Inciarte entering play Thursday hitting .406/.441/.594 in 32 at-bats, the manager has had trouble finding a good time to take him out of the lineup.

D-Backs move Ender Inciarte to leadoff spot, A.J. Pollock at No. 2 hole

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(4/15/2015) Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale told reporters that outfielder Ender Inciarte has pushed him to see everyday at-bats. On Tuesday, Hale placed Inciarte in the leadoff spot against the Padres.

"The one guy who has pushed me to play him every day is Inciarte. He has been terrific, and today I'll lead him off," Hale told MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM Satellite Radio.

Inciarte moving to the leadoff spot bumps A.J. Pollock to the No. 2 hole. Inciarte is hitting .393 (11 for 28) with three doubles, a triple, one walk and six RBI in eight games.

"I'm really happy that I got four RBI, but the thing is that we won, and whatever we can do as a team to play together and win games, it's good," Inciarte said, per MLB.com. "Whatever I can do to help the team. To be honest, I was really pumped up today, so as soon as I started the game, I was really happy to be out there and compete."

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Diamondbacks' Peralta batting cleanup Tuesday, Pollock benched

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(4/7/2015) Diamondbacks outfielder David Peralta is starting in left field and batting cleanup in Tuesday's matchup with the Giants.

Peralta wasn't in the lineup on Opening Day against lefty Madison Bumgarner but did eventually see action, striking out in a pinch-hit appearance. Ender Inciarte, who started in left field and batted second Monday, will move to center field and lead off for the Diamondbacks against righty Ryan Vogelsong.

A.J. Pollock, who led off and played center field Monday, is not in Tuesday's starting lineup.

The game is expected to be close, as the Diamondbacks and Giants both have the same odds (-105).

Diamondbacks' Inciarte ready to compete for roster spot

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(3/4/2015) Outfielder Ender Inciarte was one of the Diamondbacks' top performers in the second half last season, but even a strong finish to the year couldn't secure him a starting job this season. Therefore, Inciarte will be competing for a spot on the roster this spring.

"There's a lot of competition here, but you only control what you can control," Inciarte said, per The Arizona Republic. "I know I can play defense. I know I can run. And I know I can hit. I've just got to do my job. I want to have a chance to play, but I'm ready to take any opportunity they give me or any role.

"I know whatever happens is going to be the best thing for me. I know if I go to Triple-A, I'm going to do my best and find my way back."

Inciarte shouldn't be talking about Triple-A just yet, especially not when you are on the manager's radar.

"He's the type of player you like to have because he can do so many different things," manager Chip Hale said. "He's kind of a throwback to when we played and being able to use all those different tools in a game instead of just waiting for the big home run."

Diamondbacks' Ender Inciarte fighting for a spot

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(3/3/2015) Diamondbacks outfielder Ender Inciarte is hoping to prove he deserves a spot, according to azcentral.com.

Inciarte flashed potential during the second half of the season in 2014, but is on the fringes of the 25-man roster this spring. For right now, he's open to any role the team will give him.

"There's a lot of competition here, but you only control what you can control," Inciarte said. "I know I can play defense. I know I can run. And I know I can hit. I've just got to do my job. I want to have a chance to play, but I'm ready to take any opportunity they give me or any role."

Manager Chip Hale praised Inciarte's versatility, saying Inciarte is "the type of player you like to have because he can do so many different things."

Inciarte knows the odds are against him, but knows whatever decision the team makes will be for the best. "I know whatever happens is going to be the best thing for me," he said. "I know if I go to Triple-A, I'm going to do my best and find my way back."

The 24-year-old hit .278/.318/.359 over 418 at-bats last year.
