Ender Inciarte slugs first career home run Saturday

(7/5/2014) Diamondbacks outfielder Ender Inciarte went 1 for 4 with a solo home run in his team's 10-4 loss to the Braves Saturday.

It was the first home run of Inciarte's career, coming in his 47th appearance for the Diamondbacks. He has also managed to hit two home runs in 109 minor-league innings this season. The rookie smacked a career-high five home runs in the minors last season. Inciarte has hit .236/.262/.279 with six stolen bases in 140 at-bats.

(6/26/2014) Diamondbacks outfielder Ender Inciarte is getting used to hitting leadoff, according to the Arizona Republic

"I'm feeling good lately, I like being leadoff," Inciarte said, "I'm getting more confident at the plate, and I'm just trying to be aggressive." Inciarte mainly batted eighth after he was called up, but has embraced his new lineup spot the past few days. Throughout most of his minor-league career, Inciarte hit at the top of the order. 

Inciarte is hitting .240/.275/.269 over 104 at-bats. 


Ender Inciarte comes up big Tuesday

(6/25/2014) Diamondbacks outfielder Ender Inciarte collected four hits Tuesday against the Indians.

Inciarte hit four singles during the game. He also walked in his first plate appearance. Inciarte came up big with the team trailing in the 11th inning. With the team down one in the bottom of the inning, Inciarte drove in the game tying run, sending the game even further into extras. The Diamondbacks would go on to win the game.

Inciarte finished 4 for 7, with two runs scored and two RBI.


Ender Inciarte returns from concussion DL

(6/20/2014) The Diamondbacks activated outfielder Ender Inciarte from the 7-day concussion disabled list Friday, after getting through simulated games in recent days without issue.

Inciarte will likely continue to serve as a reserve outfielder for the Diamondbacks. He was hitting .205/.233/.229 in 83 at-bats.

(6/18/2014) Diamondbacks outfielder Ender Inciarte has passed his concussion tests and could be activated as early as Friday, FOXSportsArizona.com reports.

Inciarte was placed on the seven-day disabled list Thursday. He's scheduled to play three innings in a simulated game Wednesday, and if all goes well, he should be ready to rejoin the team. Inciarte has hit .205/.233/.229 in 83 at-bats.

(6/13/2014) Diamondbacks outfielder Ender Inciarte had to be removed from Thursday's game due to a head injury, according to MLB.com.

Inciarte collided with Jonathan Villar on a stolen base attempt. Inciarte wound up taking a knee to the head. He stayed in for his next at-bat, but was removed shortly after."He just wasn't feeling good, so we got him out of there," manager Kirk Gibson said. "We'll be cautious on that situation."

(6/2/2014) Diamondbacks center fielder Ender Inciarte is expected to get a lot more playing time with A.J. Pollock out with a broken hand, reports the Arizona Republic. Though Inciarte is hitting .163 in 49 at-bats, manager Kirk Gibson noted the 23-year-old Venezuelan went 4 for 13 with three RBIs over in the recent seven-game homestand.

"He's made some strides," Gibson told the paper. "He's making progress on it. You've seen it on the field as well. I'd like to get a little more out of there if we can."

(5/28/2014) Diamondbacks outfielder Cody Ross is grabbing some pine Wednesday against San Diego. His spot in the lineup has been taken by Ender Inciarte, who has just four hits in 36 at-bats this season.

Ross hasn't hit much better lately. He's on a 3-for-21 stretch and is batting just .189 on the season with a terrible .230 on-base percentage.

Inciarte was hitting .312/.367/.440 at Reno, while Kieschnick was hitless in seven at-bats for the Diamondbacks.

(3/9/2014) The Diamondbacks announced a slew of roster moves Sunday, which included Eury De La Rosa, Ender Inciarte, Alfredo Marte and Zeke Spruill being optioned to Triple-A Reno.

The Diamondbacks also reassigned Nick Ahmed, Jake Barrett, Mike Bolsinger, Danny Dorn, Nick Evans, Jake Lamb, Adam Russell, Matt Stites and Bobby Wilson to minor-league camp.

(11/20/2013) The Diamondbacks added outfielder Ender Inciarte and pitcher Bo Schultz to the 40-man roster Wednesday while also designating pitcher Tony Sipp for assignment, removing him from the 40-man roster.

Inciarte hit .281/.327/.362 with five home runs, 25 RBI and 43 stolen bases in 473 at-bats with Double-A Mobile last season. Schultz went 5-6 with a 3.35 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 75:36 K:BB ratio in 104 2/3 innings between Double-A Mobile and Triple-A Reno. Sipp went 3-2 with a 4.78 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 42:22 K:BB ratio in 37 2/3 innings in his one season with the Diamondbacks.

(3/30/2013) Phillies center fielder Ender Inciarte has made the opening day roster. He hit .276/.364/.310 in 34 plate appearances with the Phillies this spring.

Inciarte is a Rule 5 pick who hasn't competed above the Class-A Advanced level, where he hit .319/.377/.419 with 28 stolen bases in 279 plate appearances last season. He may be squeezed off the roster once Delmon Young returns from the disabled list.

(2/18/2013) Philadelphia plans to take a long look at Rule-5 pick outfielder Ender Inciarte this spring, reports MLB.com. The Phillies plan to take five outfielders into the regular season and Inciarte appears to be the odd man out at this time. That said, the team has said they will give Inciarte the opportunity to make a name and manager Charlie Manuel has liked what he's seen from him. "I noticed him the other day, took off from right of center field and he went and caught a ball, I couldn't believe he caught it," Manuel said. "They were telling me about his arm, and telling me about his arm ... I guess that's the reason that we got him. He definitely has some talent."
