Rays acquire pitcher Steve Geltz

(3/27/2013) The Tampa Bay Rays announced Wednesday that the team has traded RHP Dane De La Rosa to the Angels for 25-year-old RHP Steve Geltz. The team also announced that Geltz will be assigned to Triple-A Durham. Geltz allowed one earned run on one hit, a home run, in four innings of work for the Angels this spring.

Geltz allowed just one earned run on 13 hits and six walks in 25 1/3 Double-A innings last season but struggled at the Triple-A level, posting a 5.08 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 33 2/3 innings.
