Shane Peterson will be sent back to minors

(4/17/2013) Athletics first baseman Brandon Moss' paternity leave will end Thursday and he will be on the team's road trip, which begins Friday at Tampa Bay, according to The Oakland Tribune. The club will send Shane Peterson to Triple-A Sacramento to clear a roster spot.

Peterson started at first base Tuesday against the Astros, going 0 for 4 with two strikeouts.

(4/16/2013) The Athletics recalled outfielder Shane Peterson from Triple-A Sacramento Tuesday to fill the roster spot vacated by first baseman Brandon Moss after he was placed on paternity leave. Peterson was hitting .410 with five doubles and seven RBI in 11 games for Sacramento.

(4/6/2013) With Brandon Moss expected to travel with the to Houston for the final two games of a three-game set, MLB.com reports Friday that outfielder Shane Peterson will head back to Sacramento to join his Triple-A club. Peterson was working out with the team in Houston and was expected to fill in for Moss, who is still awaiting the birth of his child.

(4/5/2013) With Brandon Moss expected to be placed on the paternity list, the A's are prepared to call up outfielder Shane Peterson from Triple-A Sacramento, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Peterson doubled in his only at-bat Thursday before receiving the call. The 25-year-old is with the team working out, but cannot dress for any games until Moss is placed on the paternity list.
