Reserve Shane Peterson gets nod for Brewers on Monday

(7/27/2015) Brewers utility man Shane Peterson will make his first start since July 5 on Monday, hitting seventh and playing first base as the team opens a series against the Giants. 

Peterson has seen limited action over the last month, although he did tally three at-bats in Saturday's game after first baseman Adam Lind left the game with back tightness. 

After five straight one at-bat appearances with a hit through July 21, Peterson is now looking for his first hit in six at-bats. 


Gerardo Parra returns to Brewers' lineup in center

(6/29/2015) Gerardo Parra will start in center field for the Brewers on Monday. 

Parra, who has bounced between outfield positions, will lead off for the tenth time this year and fifth time in the last six games. 

Parra replaces Shane Peterson in center. Peterson had started 10 of the last 14 games.

(6/20/2015) Brewers outfielder Shane Peterson had his finest game as a big-leaguer in Friday's 9-5 win over the Rockies. Peterson went 3 for 5, collecting his second three-hit game of the season. He also scored twice and drove in two runs.

Peterson has made five straight starts in left field, and he's been producing. Over those five games, he has nine hits in 18 at-bats. 


Brewers recall OF Shane Peterson from Triple-A

(6/3/2015) The Brewers have recalled outfielder Shane Peterson from Triple-A, the team announced on Wednesday. Peterson has not played in the Major Leagues since grabbing seven at-bats with the A's in 2013. 

But he was hitting well with Colorado Springs this season, slashing .320/.387/.523 with seven home runs and 27 RBI in 47 games at Triple-A. Peterson will provide manager Craig Counsell with another outfield option, now that Khris Davis has undergone knee surgery.

Peterson, who was claimed off waivers from the Cubs in December, will take the roster spot of Tyler Cravy, who started Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

(4/17/2013) Athletics first baseman Brandon Moss' paternity leave will end Thursday and he will be on the team's road trip, which begins Friday at Tampa Bay, according to The Oakland Tribune. The club will send Shane Peterson to Triple-A Sacramento to clear a roster spot.
