Red Sox infielder Luis Jimenez leaving for Korea

(6/15/2015) Red Sox infielder Luis Jimenez had his contract acquired by the LG Twins, a Korean team in the KBO League, per the Boston Globe

Jimenez was selected off waivers from Milwaukee at the start of May. He played in one game with the Red Sox and was then sent to Triple-A. Jimenez was hitting .140 in 14 games with Triple-A Pawtucket.

(5/4/2015) The Red Sox have optioned pitcher Dalier Hinojosa to make room for infielder Luis Jimenez, according to the Providence Journal.

Hinojosa made his major league debut Sunday, throwing 1 2/3 scoreless innings without allowing a hit against the Yankees. Jimenez appeared in eight games this season for the Brewers before the team designated him for assignment. Jimenez is hitting .067 with one run scored in 15 at-bats.

(5/3/2015) The Red Sox claimed infielder Luis Jimenez off waivers from the Brewers, the team announced on Sunday. 

Jimenez was designated for assignment by Milwaukee after opening the season with a .067 average. 

To make room for Jimenez on the 40-man roster, the Red Sox moved catcher Ryan Hanigan from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list. Hanigan is sidelined with a hand injury.

(5/2/2015) The Brewers officially reinstated outfielder Carlos Gomez off the 15-day disabled list prior to Saturday afternoon's game against the Cubs, per the team's official website. In a corresponding move, Milwaukee designated infielder Luis Jimenez for assignment.

Gomez manned the leadoff spot for the first eight games of the season for Milwaukee. He is back at the top of the order on Saturday. He batted .235 with a homer and six RBI over 34 at-bats.

Ramirez is hitting .214/.236/.357 with four doubles, two homers and seven RBI over his first 20 games played.

(4/19/2015) Brewers right fielder Ryan Braun is back in the No. 3 spot in the lineup Sunday one day after batting leadoff against the Pirates.

The Brewers stacked the lineup with righties against a left-handed starter Saturday, and Braun made his first career start as a leadoff hitter, going 2 for 3 with two singles, getting plunked once and scoring a run in his team's 6-2 loss. He's back in his normal position for Sunday's series finale.

Third baseman Aramis Ramirez is out of the starting lineup Sunday for the first time this season. He'll be replaced at third base by Luis Jimenez.

The Brewers are underdogs (+155) in Pittsburgh Sunday.

With Herrera's demotion, infielder Hector Gomez, infielder Luis Jimenez and outfielder Logan Schafer have secured roster spots as reserve players for the Brewers, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

(3/29/2015) Brewers manager Ron Roenicke is checking out his options around the field defensively this spring, reports MLB.com. Regular outfielder Gerardo Parra is getting some work at first base and third baseman Luis Jimenez is being looked at as an emergency catcher.

"Trying to figure out what can happen during ball games," Roenicke said. "If [Parra's] really good at it and Lind's down for a couple days, you just don't know. He looks great. He works at it all the time. Getting him more experience with all the situations that can come up in a ball game."

Jimenez caught a bullpen session Sunday and is competing for a bench role.

"If he's going to be on our squad, it's nice to have somebody who can do that job," Roenicke said. "He's been going out and warming up pitchers between innings. He's pretty good at it."

(3/24/2015) Brewers third baseman Luis Jimenez hasn't seen the results many expected of him at the plate so far this spring. Jimenez has hit just .167 in 36 Cactus League at-bats this spring.

"He's got to swing the bat some, sure," manager RonRoenicke said. "Because if he's going to be the guy at third base to pick up [starter Aramis Ramirez], there's going to be at-bats there. So whoever that person is needs to swing the bat well."


Angels decide on September call-ups

The team called up pitchers Cam Bedrosian, Wade LeBlanc, Vinnie Pestano and Cory Ramus today. Outfielders Brennan Boesch and Tony Campana were also promoted to the major-league club. 

The team also added John Buck, C.J. Cron, Shawn O’Malley, Luis Jimenez and Efren Navarro .

(5/3/2014) The Angels announced several roster moves prior to Saturday's game against the Rangers, the Orange County Register reports. Outfielder J.B Shuck was optioned down to Triple-A Salt Lake City while first baseman C.J. Cron and third baseman Luis Jimenez were called up from Triple-A and inserted into the starting lineup.


Cron is considered as one of the team's top prospects. The 24-year-old .319 with six home runs and 26 RBI in the minors this season. Jimenez hit .304 with seven homers and 15 RBI at Triple-A.
