(6/16/2014) The Mets optioned outfielder Andrew Brown to Triple-A Las Vegas Monday to clear a roster spot for outfielder Eric Young, who was activated off the disabled list. Brown hit .176 (3 for 17) with one home run and two RBI in his lastest nine-game stint with the Mets.

Brown struck in the seventh, belting a 77 mph curveball out to left center for the two-run shot. He was hit by a pitch and walked earlier in the game, reaching three times. Brown finished 1 for 3, with two runs scored and two RBI.

(6/4/2014) The Mets are set to call up outfielder Andrew Brown from Triple-A Las Vegas, but he won't be available immediately.

According to ESPN.com, though Brown is en route to Chicago to meet the team, he will not be activated until Thursday. The Mets will play one more game with a short bench before officially recalling Brown, who is hitting .350/.439/.729 in 35 games at Las Vegas.  

A corresponding move has not been announced.

Brown finished the game 2 for 5, with a home run and a single. He scored one run and drove in two RBI. Brown is hitting .280.

(8/12/2013) Mets outfielder Andrew Brown's three-run pinch-hit home run in the seventh inning broke open a close game Sunday at Arizona, sending New York to a 9-5 win.

"Whenever you get a chance you try to do something productive, whether it's moving a runner over, walking, bunting," Brown said, "whatever plus it can be to keep me here a little bit longer."

Brown, who has four home runs, hasn't started since July 26.

Brown hit .200 in six games with the Mets earlier in the season, with one home run and two RBI in 15 at-bats.

(5/20/2013) Mets outfielder Andrew Brown has been placed on the seven-day minor-league disabled list.

Brown left Sunday's game with an oblique strain. He's been playing with Triple-A Las Vegas but was a candidate to be called up. Brown has seen 15 at-bats with the major-league club this season. The 28-year-old is hitting .365/.441/.652 in 115 Triple-A at-bats this season.

Brown was positioned at first for the second time in three days and was a candidate to replace Ike Davis at first base in the majors. Brown is hitting .371 with three homers and 32 RBI in 30 games for Las Vegas before getting hurt.

(5/8/2013) Mets outfielder Andrew Brown was fielding grounders at first base prior to Wednesday's game against the White Sox. Manager Terry Collins said Brown could see playing time at first base, according to The Star-Ledger.

Brown has started twice in right field since his promotion from the minors. Unfortunately, he is 0 for 5 through two games.

(5/3/2013) The Mets recalled outfielder Andrew Brown from Triple-A Las Vegas Friday to take the roster spot of struggling outfielder Collin Cowgill, who was optioned to the 51s. Brown, who was one of the team's final cuts during the spring, hit .367 with 13 doubles and 27 RBI in 25 games for Las Vegas.

He started in right field for Friday's game at Atlanta and served as the No. 8 hitter in the batting order during his first appearance with New York.

(3/24/2013) The New York Mets pared down their roster Sunday, assigning outfielders Andrew Brown, Jamie Hoffmann and Brian Bixler and pitcher Aaron Laffey to their minor-league camp. The team also sent infielder Brandon Hicks to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Laffey, who was considered a possible injury replacement in the rotation, was tagged for four runs -- his first runs allowed in the spring -- over three innings during an exhibition win over St. Louis on Sunday.
