It was Chavez's first home run since July 16 of last season. Chavez is batting .289 with five RBI through 26 games.

Chavez will man center until Michael Saunders can come off the DL and take over the spot.
The 35-year-old Chavez is 2 for 9 with a double and an RBI in his last two starts and is batting .241 with two RBI in 29 at-bats.
The 34-year-old Bay has 38 at-bats entering Tuesday's game in Houston and is hitting .184 with a homer and two RBI. He's struck out 14 times.

The 35-year-old singled in a run in the seventh inning to give the Mariners a two-run advantage. It was his first RBI of the season. Chavez reached base three times as he finished 2 for 3 with a walk and an RBI in a 2-0 victory.
