Indians option Danny Salazar, recall Chen-Chang Lee

(8/6/2014) The Indians optioned pitcher Danny Salazar to Triple-A Columbus after his start Tuesday and recalled pitcher Chen-Chang Lee.

The team obviously wants him to get more work on a lower-pressure stage after he gave up five runs in four innings Tuesday (all on two home runs). He had put together three solid starts before Wednesday's dud. Lee has posted a 4.26 ERA and 13:4 K:BB ratio in 12 2/3 innings.

(7/22/2014) The Indians optioned pitcher Chen-Chang Lee to Triple-A Columbus Tuesday, just a few days after he was recalled.  

Lee appeared in two games while with the team, throwing 1 1/3 scoreless innings despite allowing five baserunners.

(7/17/2014) Indians pitcher Chen-Chang Lee is likely coming up to the majors soon, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer

Lee was spotted with the major-league club Thursday, signaling he's been promoted. The team has yet to officially announce the move. Lee has pitched in 13 games this season and has posted a 4.76 ERA. 


Indians promote T.J. House, send down C.C. Lee

(5/17/2014) The revolving door spinning between Triple-A Columbus and Cleveland continued Saturday when the Indians promoted left-hander T.J. House and sent down Chen-Chang Lee.

The 24-year-old House has yet to pitch in a major league game and will likely be used out of the bullpen. He recorded a 2.40 ERA with the Clippers in seven starts. He fanned 34 in 41 1/3 innings.

Lee had given up five runs in his last eight appearances and struggled when coming in with runners on base.


Indians elevate pitching pair from minors

(4/9/2014) The Indians have promoted reliever Chen-Chang Lee and starter Trevor Bauer from Triple-A Columbus. Both are set to join the team for the traditional Wednesday doubleheader against San Diego.

Bauer, who is coming off a fine 2014 debut outing for the Clippers, will start the second game.

(4/2/2014) The Indians have promoted right-hander Chen-Chang Lee from Triple-A Columbus for Game 2 of their Wednesday day-night doubleheader at Oakland.

That will give the Indians a whopping nine relievers for that game, which means Lee seems destined to return to the minors after the game.

(9/3/2013) The Cleveland Indians have recalled pitchers Vinnie Pestano, Chen-Chang Lee, Josh Tomlin and Carlos Carrasco back to the club Tuesday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

These pitchers are all expected to pitch in relief for Cleveland down the stretch, though Carrasco and Tomlin have starting experience.

Lee will be sent down in order to make room for Zach McAllister, who will start Tuesday. Lee tossed two scoreless innings in the majors. He had some issues with control, hitting one batter and walking three. 

Lee has a 2.76 ERA in 16 1/3 innings in the minors.

(7/12/2013) The Indians have recalled relief pitcher Chen-Chang Lee, the club announced Friday. Lee will become the first player from Taiwanese to make a Cleveland roster, and he will also represent the nation in the Futures Game over All-Star weekend. Lee, 26, owns a 2.76 ERA over 16 1/3 innings for three different minor league teams in Cleveland's system this year.

(6/26/2013) Indians shortstop prospect Francisco Lindor, the team's No. 1 prospect according to MLB.com, was named along with reliever Chen-Chang Lee to the World team for the upcoming Futures Game. 

"Our focus with Francisco is helping him be the best major league player he can be," GM Chris Antonetti said. "We don't want to rush that process. He's continuing to develop exceptionally well in [Class A Advanced] Carolina, and is working through some things there. He's on a great path where he is now. We couldn't be more pleased with his development."

Lindor, 19, is batting .307 with Class A Carolina over 270 at-bats with 15 doubles, 43 runs scored and 18 stolen bases.
