Kevin Siegrist makes his first appearance vs. Mets

(3/2/2014) Cardinals pitcher Kevin Siegrist, who had been dealing with arm soreness, pitched the final inning of a 7-1 win over the Mets in Grapefruit League action.

Siegrist struck out Matt Clark before allowing a single to Eric Campbell. He then forced Dustin Lawley to ground out to a double play. He allowed just one hit and struck out one in a scoreless frame.

(2/20/2014) Cardinals pitcher Kevin Siegrist is scheduled to throw off a mound Thursday, according to MLB.com. 

Siegrist skipped Monday's side session due to arm soreness. He described the move to skip Monday's session as "precautionary." Siegrist posted a 0.45 ERA in 39 2/3 innings last year.

(2/17/2014) Cardinals reliever Kevin Siegrist missed his side session Monday due to minor arm soreness, according to MLB.com. He said he felt soreness after throwing his first bullpen session Saturday and described the rest Monday as "precautionary."

(7/10/2013) With a scoreless inning Tuesday against the Astros, Cardinals reliever Kevin Siegrist etched his name into a small part of the franchise's record books. Siegrist tossed his 12th straight scoreless outing to begin his career, breaking the franchise record set by Tyler Johnson in 2005-06, according to MLB.com.

"I actually was thinking about it yesterday and this morning," Siegrist said Wednesday. "It's kind of unreal to be part of history now in an organization like this. It's awesome. It's an honor to be put in these record books."

Siegrist has been excellent out of the bullpen so far, allowing just two hits and three walks, while striking out 17 in 12 innings.

(6/6/2013) The Cardinals recalled left-handed reliever Kevin Siegrist from Triple-A Memphis Thursday. Siegrist, who will be making his MLB debut, is 2-1 with a 1.95 ERA and .118 opponents' batting average in 18 relief outings between Double-A and Triple-A.

Siegrist also has 44 strikeouts to 10 walks in 27 2/3 innings.
