Swagerty undergoing Tommy John

(3/31/2012) Cardinals pitching prospect Jordan Swagerty will undergo season-ending surgery shortly, reports MLB.com. Swagerty, the Cardinals' seventh-best prospect, will undergo a pair of procedures, including Tommy John. “It’s disappointing,” farm director John Vuch said. “But in the long run it’s probably better to do everything now than to break [the two procedures] up and risk losing the better part of two seasons.”
