White Sox trade Michael Blanke to Diamondbacks

(3/21/2015) The White Sox traded minor league pitcher/catcher Michael Blanke to the Diamondbacks in exchange for cash considerations. 

Blanke was drafted in the 14th round in 2010 out of the University of Tampa. He made it as high as Double-A in the White Sox organization. After hitting .254 in 320 career games at catcher, Blanke returned to rookie ball last year and appeared in 13 games as a pitcher, going 0-0 with a 4.72 ERA.

(3/5/2013) The Chicago White Sox made their first roster moves of the spring Tuesday and assigned the following players to their minor-league camp: third baseman Andy Wilkins, shortstop Tyler Saladino, catchers Mike Blanke and Kevan Smith and pitcher Jacob Petricka.
