(3/28/2014) The Rockies have released right-hander pitcher Joe Gardner, who has not panned out after his acquisition from the Indians in the Ubaldo Jimenez trade in 2011. The 26-year-old Gardner has yet to rise above Double-A ball.

(7/9/2013) The Rockies designated pitcher Joe Gardner for assignment Tuesday to clear a 40-man roster spot for trade acquisition Mitchell Boggs. He was 3-2 with a 7.01 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 25:13 K:BB ratio in 25 2/3 innings with Double-A Tulsa.
