(7/12/2014) The Reds sent pitcher Brett Marshall outright to Triple-A Louisville Saturday.

Marshall, who was designated for assignment Thursday, suffered a finger injury during the preseason. He is 0-5 with a 10.97 ERA and 14:27 K:BB ratio in 21 1/3 innings over seven starts with Louisville.

Marshall is on the 60-day disabled list due to a torn tendon in his finger. Marshall will head to the team complez in Arizona to begin his rehab. Marshall has not appeared in the majors this year due to the issue.

(3/30/2014) The Reds have placed infielder Jack Hannahan and pitcher Brett Marshall on the 60-day disabled list.

Hannahan is still recovering after offseason shoulder surgery. Marshall sprained a tendor in one of his fingers. The team needed to make the moves in order to set the 40-man roster.

(3/27/2014) Reds right-hander Brett Marshall will likely open the season on the disabled list after straining a tendon in his right middle finger, the Cincinnati Enquirer has reported.

Marshall, who turned 24 years old on Saturday, pitched three games for the Yankees last season. He has since landed on the rosters of the Cubs and Reds.

Marshall pitched 12 innings in the majors last season, posting a 4.50 ERA. He'll compete for a role with the club during spring training. Henry Rodriguez has been designated for assignment to make room for Marshall.

Marshall made three relief appearances for the Yankees in 2013, and he made 25 starts for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, compiling a 7-10 record with a 5.13 ERA.

(12/19/2013) The Yankees designated right-hander Brett Marshall for assignment Thursday to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for newly signed outfielder Carlos Beltran.

Marshall allowed six earned runs over 12 innings in three relief appearances for the Yankees last year. He was a starter at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, going 7-10 with a 5.13 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 7.8 strikeouts per nine innings in 25 starts.

(5/16/2013) The Yankees optioned pitcher Brett Marshall to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after the team promoted Dellin Betances Thursday. Marshall worked in long relief Wednesday against the Mariners, allowing five runs on nine hits (two home runs) and five walks in 5 2/3 innings.

(5/15/2013) Yankees reliever Brett Marshall made his major league debut on Wednesday against the Mariners after being recalled earlier in the day. After starter Phil Hughes lasted just 2/3 of an inning and Preston Claiborne went 2 1/3, Marshall went 5 2/3 frames and was removed with two outs in the top of the ninth. 

Marshall allowed five earned runs on nine hits and five walks over 108 pitches for the Yankees. He surrendered two homers and struck out one as manager Joe Girardi let him go deep in order to help save the New York bullpen. 

Marshall, a starter at Triple-A, was 2-2 with a 4.60 ERA in six starts for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He struck out 29 and walked 21 in 31 1/3 innings.

(3/11/2013) Yankees catcher Austin Romine was the first significant cut of the spring for New York on Monday, reports the Journal News. Romine was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre along with LHP Francisco Rondon and RHPs Dellin Betances and Brett Marshall. The team also optioned LHPs Manny Banuelos and Nik Turley, RHP Jose Ramirez and OF Ramon Flores to Double-A Trenton. New York also reassigned pitcher Chase Whitley, catcher J.R. Murphy and first baseman Luke Murton to minor league camp.

Marshall entered in the third inning for starter David Phelps and went two frames of his own. Marshall struck out two batters but walked one and allowed a hit as a run scored on his watch.
