Evan Marshall earns third win Saturday

(7/26/2014) Diamondbacks pitcher Evan Marshall gave up two hits and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning before earning his third win of the year in his team's 10-6, 10-inning victory over the Phillies.

Marshall (3-2) surrendered two earned runs in one inning of work Friday, but he rebounded to keep the game tied and send it into extra innings one day later. He owns a 3.67 ERA and 26:10 K:BB ratio in 27 innings.


Evan Marshall not suspended after ejection

(6/21/2014) Diamondbacks pitcher Evan Marshall will not be suspended after getting ejected for hitting Milwaukee's Ryan Braun Tuesday, Arizona Republic reports.

Marshall will receive a fine of an undisclosed amount. He threw behind Braun on one pitch and received a warning before hitting the batter on the next pitch. The Diamondbacks were ahead at the time of the beanball, but the Brewers swatted a grand slam later in the same inning and went on to win.


Evan Marshall gets ejected, takes loss Tuesday

(6/18/2014) Diamondbacks pitcher Evan Marshall was hung with a loss Tuesday after giving up three earned runs on two hits and a hit batsman and not recording an out in his team's 7-5 defeat against the Brewers.

Marshall (2-2) gave up two hits before Ryan Braun came to the plate, and after the reliever was warned for throwing behind Braun, he plunked the batter to get himself ejected from the game. The Brewers would smack a grand slam later in the inning to charge Marshall with three runs and the loss. He owns a 3.44 ERA and 19:7 K:BB ratio in 18 1/3 innings.


Evan Marshall picks up win vs. Mets Sunday

(5/25/2014) Diamondbacks pitcher Evan Marshall secured his second win Sunday, issuing a walk but giving up no hits or runs in two-thirds of an inning as his team defeated the Mets, 2-1.

Marshall (2-0) has given up just one hit in 3 2/3 innings over his last three appearances, but he's also walked five batters while epitomizing the phrase "effectively wild." He owns a 8:5 K:BB ratio while giving up no earned runs in 8 2/3 innings.

(5/6/2014) Making his major-league debut Tuesday, Diamondbacks pitcher Evan Marshall secured his first win after striking out two in 1 1/3 scoreless innings as his team defeated the Brewers, 7-5.

Marshall was the beneficiary of three eighth-inning runs by Arizona, puting the cherry on top of an excellent debut performance. He threw 15 of his 19 pitches for striking in the appearance.

(5/6/2014) The Diamondbacks recalled pitcher Evan Marshall from Triple-A Reno Monday to take the roster spot of the injured J.J. Putz.

Marshall has yet to pitch in a major-league game, but he's been excellent with Reno this season. He owns a 0.54 ERA and 19:5 K:BB ratio in 16 2/3 innings.
