Pirates shore up 40-man roster

(11/20/2014) The Pirates have added four players to the 40-man roster on Thursday.

Jameson Taillon , Nick Kingham , Willy Garcia and Elias Diaz all had their contracts purchased. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the team outrighted Brent Morel and designated Ramon Cabrera for assignment. 


Pirates pick up minor league catcher

(8/13/2014) Catcher Ramon Cabrera has been claimed off waivers by the Pirates. Cabrera had been designated for assignment by the Tigers.

The 24-year-old Cabrera has yet to play beyond Double-A. He owned a .277/.329/.358 stat line this season for Double-A Erie.


Tigers option four, re-assign four Wednesday

(3/12/2014) The Tigers optioned pitchers Casey Crosby and Melvin Mercedes to Triple-A Toledo and pitcher Jose Valdez and catcher Ramon Cabrera to Double-A Erie Wednesday.

The team also re-assigned catcher James McCann and pitchers Robbie Ray, Duane Below and Drew VerHagen to minor-league camp Wednesday.

(3/11/2013) The Detroit Tigers continued shaping their roster for the upcoming season and announced the following moves Monday: catcher Ramon Cabrera and shortstop Dixon Machado were assigned to Double-A Erie; pitcher Melvin Mercedes was sent to Class A Lakeland while outfielder Daniel Fields and shortstop Eugenio Suarez were assigned to the team's minor-league camp.
