Athletics add Raul Alcantara to 40-man roster

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(11/21/2013) The Athletics added pitcher Raul Alcantara to the team's 40-man roster Wednesday, thereby protecting him from the Rule 5 draft.

Alcantara made 27 starts between Class A Beloit and high Class A Stockton in 2013, going 12-6 with a 3.11 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 124:24 K:BB ratio in 156 1/3 innings. His addition leaves the A's with one open spot on the 40-man roster.
