Giants find gem in 16th-round pick

(7/23/2012) Giants starting pitcher prospect Clayton Blackburn continues to be one of the South Atlantic League's (Class A) best pitchers. The 2011 16th-round pick is 6-3 with a 2.82 ERA and .235 opponents' batting average through 16 starts for Augusta. He also has 99 strikeouts to just 13 walks in 89 1/3 innings. His best month of the season was June, when he went 4-0 with a 2.36 ERA in four starts.
