Rays outright Vince Belnome to Triple-A

(11/8/2014) The Rays have sent first baseman Vince Belnome outright to Triple-A Durham.

The move clears a 40-man roster spot in advance of December's Rule 5 draft. Belnome went 1 for 10 in his major-league debut in 2014 while also hitting .245/.358/.383 with 10 home runs and 49 RBI in 419 at-bats with Durham.

(8/20/2014) One day after smacking his first major league hit, first baseman Vince Belnome has been dispatched by the Rays to Triple-A Durham to make room on the roster for Wil Myers.

Belnome managed one hit in 10 at-bats during his three-game stint with Tampa Bay.

Belnome was up early in the year, but did not appear in a game. He's hit .225/.345/.370 in 262 at-bats at Triple-A.


Sean Rodriguez to return Friday

(4/3/2014) Rays infielder Sean Rodriguez is expected back from the paternity list after missing just one game, after the birth of his son Thursday. According to the Tampa Bay Times,  Rodriguez will return to the team in time for Friday's game against the Rangers.

Rodriguez's return will likely lead to Vince Belnome making a swift return to Triple-A Durham, after he was called up for Thursday's game and did not make an appearance.

(4/3/2014) The Rays placed infielder Sean Rodriguez on the paternity leave list Thursday, adding infielder Vince Belnome from Triple-A Durham. Belnome will be available for Thursday's game against the Blue Jays, according to Sportsnet.ca.

The team optioned pitchers Nathan Karns, Kirby Yates, C.J. Riefenhauser and Jeff Beliveau, infielders Vince Belnome and Hak-Ju Lee, and outfielder Kevin Kiermaier to minor-league camp. The team also re-assigned outfielder Mikie Mahtook to minor-league camp.

Rays add four to 40-man roster, sign seven minor leaguers

(11/21/2013) The Rays added infielder Vince Belnome and pitchers Jesse Hahn, C.J. Riefenhauser and Kirby Yates to the 40-man roster Wednesday, while also signing catcher Mayo Acosta and pitchers Mike Colla, Mark Lowe, Victor Mateo, Eduardo Quinonez, Sam Runion and Albert Suarez to minor-league contracts.

Belnome hit .300/.408/.446 with eight home runs and 67 RBI in 444 at-bats with Triple-A Durham. Hahn went 2-1 with a 2.15 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 63:18 K:BB ratio in 67 innings over 19 starts with high Class A Charlotte.

Riefenhauser went 6-1 with a 1.22 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 70:19 K:BB ratio in 73 2/3 innings between Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham. Yates went 3-2 with a 1.90 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 93:23 K:BB ratio in 61 2/3 innings with Triple-A Durham.
