by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(3/20/2015) The Diamondbacks announced Friday they optioned outfielder Socrates Brito, infielder Brandon Drury and pitcher Will Locante to Double-A Mobile. Drury is among the team's top 10 prospects, according to Baseball America.

Diamondbacks 3B Brandon Drury homers, hit on elbow Tuesday

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(3/17/2015) Diamondbacks third baseman Brandon Drury went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBI Tuesday but  also left the game after being hit on the elbow by a pitch.

Drury said after exiting that his elbow feels fine and that he has no concern about the issue moving forward, MLB.com reports.

"It just got me on the elbow," Drury said. "I'm good. My arm just kind of went numb and it hurt, but I'm good now."

Drury has swung a hot bat this spring, going 10 for 23 with three home runs, nine RBI and three walks, prompting manager Chip Hale to call him "really impressive" last week. However, he remains a long shot to make the Opening Day roster.

Diamondbacks impressed with Brandon Drury's spring

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(3/13/2015) Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale said that infielder Brandon Drury has been "really impressive" through the first week and a half of spring games.

Drury is hitting .467 through nine games. He's doing it while learning a new position, as well. Despite only playing a dozen professional games at second base, the former third baseman has been getting in work at the new spot this spring.

"Drury's done a good job," Hale told MLB.com's William Boor. "He's learning how to play second on the job, and he's a great athlete. One thing I noticed about him in the Fall League, and then early in camp, is he has good feet. When you have good feet, you can play anywhere in the infield. He hasn't shown any nervousness or anything like that. It's been really impressive."

Diamondbacks' Brandon Drury off to promising start this spring

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(3/12/2015) Diamondbacks prospect Brandon Drury connected for his second spring homer Wednesday against the Angels.

Drury, who is considered Arizona's seventh-best prospect by Baseball America, is batting .462 (6 for 13) through eight spring games. He also has two doubles, five RBI, three walks, four strikeouts and six runs.

Drury is on the 40-man roster, but he has only played 29 games above Class A and will likely open the year in the high minors.

Diamondbacks' Brandon Drury to split time at 2B, 3B this spring

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(2/27/2015) Diamondbacks infielder Brandon Drury will split time at second base and third base this spring, the Arizona Republic reports.

Drury will pick up work at second base after the team signed Yasmany Tomas this offseason. He saw time at the position during the Arizona Fall League and also spent two games there with Double-A Mobile last season.

"I don't feel like I need extra reps at second to be game-ready there," Drury said. "I felt good there."

Drury approached starting second baseman Aaron Hill for advice during fielding drills Friday, impressing Hill with his ability to ask for help as well as the quickness of his adjustment to the advice.

"He made the adjustments easy. Easy," Hill said. "What's great, too, is when a guy is willing to ask question. He's a sponge and he wants to learn. I think it's awesome."

Drury hit .299/.362/.510 with 23 home runs and 95 RBI in 535 at-bats between high Class A Visalia and Mobile in 2014.

Drury included in Upton deal

(1/24/2013) In addition to utility player Martin Prado, starting pitcher Randall Delgado, shortstop prospect Nick Ahmed and pitching prospect Zeke Spruill, the Braves also sent minor-league third baseman Brandon Drury to the Diamondbacks Thursday for Justin Upton and Chris Johnson. Drury hit .229 with six homers and a .603 OPS in 445 at-bats at Class A Rome last year.
