Rockies recall trio of players from Triple-A on Tuesday

by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(7/28/2015) Following the recent trade of Troy Tulowitzki to Toronto, the Rockies have shuffled their roster a bit on Tuesday. They have recalled infielder Christian Adames , right-hander Justin Miller and left-hander Aaron Laffey from Triple-A.

Adames has not appeared in the big leagues yet this season, but he owns a .296/.342/.416 slash line with 16 doubles and seven home runs in 86 games with Alburquerque.

Miller made eight relief appearances for the Rockies earlier this season, posting a 1.29 ERA over seven innings of work.

Laffey, an eight-year veteran, pitched 2 1/3 innings in a relief outing earlier this year. He is 2-3 with a 4.78 ERA in 58 1/3 innings with the Isotopes.

Rockies' Adames, Ynoa with slim chance of making Opening Day team

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(3/24/2015) Rockies prospects Cristhian Adames and Rafael Ynoa know their odds aren't great to make the Opening Day roster, but are taking advantage of the extra playing time this spring, reports MLB.com.

Adames, who primarily plays shortstop, has received work at every position in the infield this year after hitting .353 in the Dominican Winter League.

"I worked to hit the ball the other way, every time, and I played all three positions -- third, second, short," said Adames. "I worked in the Dominican on my running, and it's helped me with my defense."

Ynoa is just glad to have the opportunity to play in the majors at some point this year.

"Most of my teammates got called up, and I was frustrated -- it's tough when you see you are part of a winning team, playing every day and putting your effort in and you're still stuck in the same spot," Ynoa said. "I went to the Fall League and every year I was an everyday player. But that's life. Nothing is easy.

(7/30/2014) The Rockies called up pitcher Rob Scahill and optioned infielder Cristhian Adames Wednesday.

The team went through a 16-inning game Tuesday night, so extra help in the bullpen was needed for Wednesday's game. Adames went 0 for 3 in his debut Tuesday before being sent back down. Scahill has given up four earned runs in 5 1/3 innings over three appearances with the Rockies.
