Casey Coleman up, Michael Mariot down for Royals

(7/2/2014) The Royals have promoted reliever Casey Coleman from Triple-A Omaha and demoted fellow right-hander Michael Mariot to the same team.

Coleman, who had been down for six weeks, pitched in two games for Kansas City in May without giving up a run.

(5/9/2014) The Royals recalled infielder Johnny Giavotella from Triple-A Omaha Friday, using the roster spot cleared by Michael Mariot's option to Omaha.

Mariot had a 5.91 ERA in 10 2/3 innings for the Royals.  


Royals call up two relievers Monday

(4/7/2014) The Royals have called up relievers Donnie Joseph and Michael Mariot from Triple-A Monday.

Both Francisley Bueno and Tim Collins were placed on the disabled list, which opened up spots for Joseph and Mariot. The team has not announced the specifics of the injuries to Collins and Bueno, so it's not known how long Joseph or Mariot will have to establish themselves in the majors.

(3/14/2014) The Royals optioned infielder Christian Colon, catcher Francisco Pena and pitcher Michael Mariot to Triple-A Omaha Friday.

Colon went 1 for 2 with one run and one RBI Friday and went 8 for 27 in 14 games with the Royals. Pena hit his first spring home run Friday and is 2 for 9 in six games. Mariot allowed one earned run in one inning Friday and has given up six earned runs in six innings this spring.

(11/22/2013) The Royals have purchased the contract of relief pitcher Michael Mariot from Triple-A Omaha on Friday. Mariot went 4-5 with a 3.56 ERA in 60 2/3 innings of work in the minors last season.

Royals add four to 40-man roster, DFA two

(11/20/2013) The Royals added infielders Christian Colon and Chelsor Cuthbert, outfielder Lane Adams and pitcher Michael Mariot to the 40-man roster Wednesday while also designating infielder Irving Falu and pitcher Noel Arguelles for assignment.

Colon hit .273/.335/.379 with 12 home runs, 58 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 512 at-bats with Triple-A Omaha. Cuthbert hit .247/.316/.387 with eight home runs and 59 RBI in 518 at-bats between high Class A Wilmington and Double-A Northwest Arkansas. Adams hit .265/.353/.415 with 12 home runs, 65 RBI and 38 stolen bases in 479 at-bats between high Class A Wilmington and Double-A Northwest Arkansas. Mariot went 4-5 with a 3.56 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 66:25 K:BB ratio in 60 2/3 innings with Triple-A Omaha.

Falu went 1 for 4 in one appearance with the Royals while hitting .256/.320/.329 with two home runs, 31 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 508 at-bats in his fifth season with Triple-A Omaha. Arguelles went 1-8 with a 5.93 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 44:53 K:BB ratio in 71 1/3 innings with Double-A Northwest Arkansas.


Royals make several roster moves

(3/18/2013) The Kansas City Royals made several roster moves on Monday prior to the Cactus League game against the Rangers. The Royals reassigned pitchers Blaine Boyer, Michael Mariot, Brian Sanches and Yordano Ventura to minor-league camp.

Optioned to Triple-A Omaha were pitchers Everett Teaford, Will Smith and Nate Adcock.

Teaford, Smith and Adcock have all seen time in the majors and could come up for the Royals at some point this season.
