Phils, O's swap Julio Rodriguez for Ronnie Welty

(3/24/2013) The Phillies traded pitcher Julio Rodriguez to the Orioles for outfielder Ronnie Welty on Sunday.

Rodriguez went 7-7 with a 4.23 ERA in 29 appearances (22 starts) for Double-A Reading in 2012.

Welty batted .333 with 13 homers and 55 RBI between four stops in the minors last season, finishing at Double-A Bowie.

(5/24/2012) Phillies pitching prospect Julio Rodriguez is 3-0 with a .229 opponents' batting average through nine starts at Double-A Reading. He has allowed just one homer in 47 2/3 innings, while striking out 43 and walking 23.
