by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

Dan Rosenbaum farm fresh for Nationals

by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com
(4/29/2013) After returning to the Nationals from the Rockies following spring training -- and subsequently moving back to a familiar role -- pitcher Dan Rosenbaum has blossomed into another standout option at Triple-A Syracuse. Rosenbaum was selected by Colorado in last year's Rule 5 draft, but was sent back to Washington after the Rockies' failed attempt to convert him to a middle reliever.

With Syracuse -- his first season at the Triple-A level -- the 25-year-old was placed back into the starting rotation and has yielded just three runs over 23 2/3 innings for a solid 1.14 ERA. However, Rosenbaum isn't a major strikeout force and has fanned just five batters this season and owns a career mark of 6.6 K/9.

(3/24/2013) The Rockies will return Rule 5 pick Dan Rosenbaum to the Washington Nationals, reports the Washington Times Sunday.

Colorado selected the hurler with the third pick in the December Rule 5 draft. He pitched eight spring training innings for the Rockies and allowed four runs and nine hits without a single strikeout.

Rosenbaum undefeated at Double-A

(5/27/2012) Nationals starting pitcher prospect Daniel Rosenbaum continues to be one of the Eastern League's (Double-A) top hurlers. Rosenbaum is 6-0 with a 0.99 ERA and .194 opponents' batting average in nine starts. He also has two complete games, 41 strikeouts and nine walks in 63 1/3 innings.
