Royals' Mike Moustakas replaced by Cheslor Cuthbert

(7/26/2015) Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas isn't in the starting lineup for Sunday's game. 

Moustakas has started 85 games at third, including the last eight. He'll be replaced by Chelsor Cuthbert , who gets his fifth start of the season at third base.

(7/24/2015) The Royals made a pair of moves impacting their infield on Friday. The team recalled third baseman Cheslor Cuthbert from Triple-A Omaha, while sending down third baseman Dusty Coleman, according to The Kansas City Star.

(7/10/2015) Royals rookie infielder Cheslor Cuthbert will be headed back to Triple-A Omaha, per 610sports.com.

Cuthbert, who was recalled from the minors for prior to a mid-week series against the Rays, played pretty well during his short stint in the majors.

In four games since being called up, Cuthbert hit .333 with five hits, a triple and two RBI.


Royals' Cheslor Cuthbert triples, records two RBI on Thursday

(7/9/2015) Royals rookie infielder Cheslor Cuthbert went 2 for 4 in Thursday's 8-3 win over the Rays, driving in the first two runs of his young career. Cuthbert hit an RBI triple in the second inning, and then drove in another run with a base hit in the eighth.

The 22-year-old has at least one hit in each of his first four games, and Thursday's triple was his first extra-base hit. 


Royals bring up 3B Cheslor Cuthbert from Omaha

(7/6/2015) Infielder Cheslor Cuthbert hasn't been hitting particularly well at Triple-A Omaha, but that did not prevent the Royals from promoting him Monday after they placed third baseman Mike Moustakas on the Bereavement/Family Medical Emergency List.

The 22-year-old Cuthbert, who has yet to play in the majors, has no multi-hit games since June 17. He is batting .180 (9-for-50) since then and owns a slash line on the year of .256/.318/.389.


Royals announce slew of roster moves Sunday

(3/22/2015) The Royals made a number of roster moves after Sunday's game including optioning Michael Mariot, Yohan Pino, Francisco Pena, Cheslor Cuthbert and Reymond Fuentes to Triple-A Omaha. 

They also optioned pitcher Brandon Finnegan to Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Terrance Gore to High-A Wilmington. In addition, Kansas City re-assigned Parker Morin and Brett Eibner to their minor-league camp, the team announced.


Royals prospect Cheslor Cuthbert moving from 3B to 2B

(2/25/2015) Royals prospect Cheslor Cuthbert is making the transition to second base this spring with his path at third base blocked by Mike Moustakas at the major-league level. Cuthbert has also fallen behind prospect Hunter Dozier as a potential future third baseman for Kansas City.

"I like it," Cuthbert said of the position change, per MLB.com. "It's different. You have to really work to learn the double play at second. But it's been fun.

"I'll do whatever it takes. The main thing is just to get better overall as a player and everything else will take care of itself."

The 22-year-old Cuthbert hit .274 with 12 home runs, 24 doubles and 64 RBI in 121 games between Double-A and Triple-A in 2014.


Royals roster moves include sending Kyle Zimmer to minors

(3/10/2014) The Royals announced several roster moves Monday, which included sending top pitching prospect Kyle Zimmer to minor-league camp. Jason AdamAaron BrooksSugar Ray MarimonJuan GraterolBrandon LairdJorge BonifacioGorkys HernandezMelky Mesa  and Paulo Orlando were also reassigned to minor-league camp.

The Royals also optioned Chris Dwyer to Triple-A Omaha, while optioning John Lamb, Cheslor Cuthbert and Lane Adams to Double-A Northwest Arkansas.


Royals add four to 40-man roster, DFA two

(11/20/2013) The Royals added infielders Christian Colon and Chelsor Cuthbert, outfielder Lane Adams and pitcher Michael Mariot to the 40-man roster Wednesday while also designating infielder Irving Falu and pitcher Noel Arguelles for assignment.

Colon hit .273/.335/.379 with 12 home runs, 58 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 512 at-bats with Triple-A Omaha. Cuthbert hit .247/.316/.387 with eight home runs and 59 RBI in 518 at-bats between high Class A Wilmington and Double-A Northwest Arkansas. Adams hit .265/.353/.415 with 12 home runs, 65 RBI and 38 stolen bases in 479 at-bats between high Class A Wilmington and Double-A Northwest Arkansas. Mariot went 4-5 with a 3.56 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 66:25 K:BB ratio in 60 2/3 innings with Triple-A Omaha.

Falu went 1 for 4 in one appearance with the Royals while hitting .256/.320/.329 with two home runs, 31 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 508 at-bats in his fifth season with Triple-A Omaha. Arguelles went 1-8 with a 5.93 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 44:53 K:BB ratio in 71 1/3 innings with Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
