Brooks Raley outrighted to Triple-A

(6/7/2014) Angels pitcher Brooks Raley has been outrighted to Triple-A.

The move takes Raley off the club's 40-man roster. Raley has struggled in the minors this year, posting an 8.07 ERA over two levels.

(5/8/2014) The Angels have claimed Twins pitcher Brooks Raley off waivers, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press

The move comes at a convenient time for Minnesota. With Matt Guerrier getting the call Thursday, the team needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster. The Raley move makes that possible now. In 38 1/3 innings in the majors, Raley has a 7.04 ERA. 


Twins make several roster moves Sunday

(3/9/2014) The Twins made a slew of roster moves Sunday. The team announced pitchers Logan Darnell, Edgar IbarraBrooks Raley and Trevor May were optioned to Triple-A Rochester. 

The Twins also announced first baseman Kennys Vargas was optioned to Double-A New Britain, while infielder Jorge Polanco  and outfielder Max Kepler  were optioned to Class A Ft. Myers.

The Twins also reassigned pitchers Alex Meyer, Lester Oliveros and Yohan Pino, catchers Kyle KnudsonMatt Koch  and Stuart Turner, outfielders Byron Buxton  and Chris Rahl  and infielder Miguel Sano to minor-league camp.

Raley has compiled 38 1/3 innings in the majors over the past two seasons. He's struggled, posting a career 7.04 ERA. The lefty will likely compete for a spot in Minnesota's pen.

(9/3/2013) The Cubs recalled pitchers Justin Grimm, Brooks Raley and catcher J.C. Boscan from Triple-A Iowa prior to Tuesday's game against the Marlins, according to MLB.com. In addition the team also selected pitcher Zach Rosscup from Iowa and designated Dave Sappelt for assignment.

Grimm was 2-3 with a 4.68 ERA in eight starts for Iowa. Raley was 8-10 with one save in 27 games (25 starts) for Iowa. Boscan batted .232 in 74 games at Iowa

Raley has a 4.91 ERA in 17 appearances in Triple-A Iowa. Raley has been up with the Cubs this year, but did not appear in a game.

(3/11/2013) The Chicago Cubs continued shaping their roster for the upcoming season and announced the following moves Monday: pitchers Trey McNutt, Brooks Raley and Alberto Cabrera and second baseman Logan Watkins were optioned to Triple-A Iowa; pitcher Robert Whitenack was optioned to Double-A Tennessee and pitcher Nick Struck was assigned to the team's minor-league camp.
