by Ted Leshinski | Staff Writer
(3/25/2015) The White Sox have optioned catcher Rob Brantly to their Triple-A team in Charlotte and have reassigned outfielder Courtney Hawkins and infielder Juan Diaz to their minor league camp, reports MLB.com

In 18 at-bats this spring, Brantley hit .167 with one home run and three RBI.

Hawkins hit .412 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 34 at-bats while Diaz hit .250 in 16 at-bats.

White Sox LF Courtney Hawkins homers twice versus Royals

by Dave Peters | CBSSports.com
(3/21/2015) White Sox left fielder Courtney Hawkins had a strong performance in a 6-4 win over the Royals on Saturday.

Hawkins homered twice in the victory, giving him four homeruns and nine RBI in 32 times at bat this spring.

Manager Robin Ventura spoke highly of the left fielder.

“I don’t think there’s anybody in our camp that has had the strides and improvement that Courtney has,” Ventura said. “This has been a great spring for him as far as being able to come up here and get at-bats, put some good swings on the ball and get some home runs. We are seeing the kind of power he has, too.”

White Sox prospect Courtney Hawkins impressing in spring training

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(3/16/2015) White Sox prospect Courtney Hawkins is starting to make a case for making the opening day roster. Just ask manager Robin Ventura.

"His attitude and how he goes about it -- he's kind of soaking up everything as he's here," Ventura said to MLB.com. "He's in the dugout, he's always around. That's the big thing for young kids is their eagerness to be out there and learn."

Ventura said he thinks Hawkins is close to making the leap to a pro.

"The biggest jump as far as somebody coming in this spring has been Courtney," Ventura said. "With Mike Taylor retiring, he gets a lot more at-bats, and I think he's made some adjustments, even now, while he's been here."

White Sox prospect Courtney Hawkins taking it slow this spring

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(3/2/2015) White Sox prospect Courtney Hawkins is hoping to make an impact for the club at some point, but he knows it won't happen overnight, according MLB.com.

"My only job is to go out every day and play to the best of my ability. That's what they got me here to do."

Hawkins feels like he has the patience to wait until his number gets called to the big leagues.

"When I first got drafted, I definitely thought that I had to get there fast. I had to do something more," Hawkins said. "I feel like right now, as long as I do what I'm supposed to do and play the game I know I'm able to play and they know I'm able to play, I feel like it's going to come on its own, and that's what they wanted out of me.

The results of Hawkins' MRI will then be evaluated by team doctors next week in Chicago.

Hawkins, who was selected in the first round of the 2012 draft, is batting .177 (14 for 79) with one double, seven home runs and 17 RBI in 23 games.

(4/8/2013) White Sox outfield prospect Courtney Hawkins was pulled from Sunday's game for Class A Winston-Salem because of a bruised quadriceps, according to the Chicago Tribune. However, he is expected to be fine and is listed as day to day.

Hawkins, who was a 2012 first-round pick (13th overall), is off to a slow start. He's batting .100 (1 for 10) with six strikeouts through three games. He also has one stolen base. Hawkins is considered a top 100 prospect by Baseball America (No. 55) and MLB.com (No. 68).
