Astros pitcher Lance McCullers is considered one of Houston's top pitching prospects. So far this spring, McCullers is making his presence known, reports The Houston Chronicle.
"I was happy for McCullers to get his feet wet and get into a game," manager A.J. Hinch said. "He showed some really, really positive signs for making an impression right out of the gate when he wasn’t expected to pitch."
McCullers threw one inning Tuesday, recording one strikeout and surrendering just one hit.
“It’s going great,” McCullers said of minor-league camp. “I’m throwing the ball as best as I’ve ever thrown, feeling mentally and physically the strongest I’ve ever felt. I’m really excited.”
