Dodgers demote relievers Chin Hui-Tsao and Josh Ravin

(7/25/2015) Just two weeks after promoting pitchers Chin-Hui Tsao and Josh Ravin from Triple-A Albuquerque, the Dodgers have sent them back down, MLB.com has reported.

Tsao performed decently in four relief appearances and sports a 2.84 ERA. Ravin got into only one game in his latest stint in the bigs and hurled a shutout inning. He owns a 5.63 ERA on the season.


Dodgers recall RP Josh Ravin, place Greinke on paternity list

(7/24/2015) The Dodgers recalled relief pitcher Josh Ravin from Triple-A Oklahoma City and placed starting pitcher Zack Greinke on the paternity list on Friday, per the Los Angeles Times.

Ravin tossed seven innings with Los Angeles earlier this season, going 2-1 with a 6.43 ERA.

Greinke is not with the team, instead, he is with his family as he awaits the birth of his first child. He is eligible to return off the paternity list on Saturday.


Dodgers activate Brandon Beachy, option Josh Ravin, DFA Matt West

(7/11/2015) As expected, the Dodgers activated Brandon Beachy from the 60-day disabled list to start Saturday's game, the team announced

Beachy has been recovering from Tommy John surgery and hasn't pitched in a MLB game since August, 2013. 

To make room on the active roster, the team optioned RHP Josh Ravin to Triple-A Oklahoma City. 

Ravin was 2-1 with a 6.43 ERA in seven games with the Dodgers.

To open a spot on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers designated RHP Matt West for assignment. He didn't allow a run in two appearances with the team.

(6/20/2015) The Dodgers have recalled right-hander Matt West from Triple-A prior to Saturday's game against the Giants. West has appeared in six games for Oklahoma City after being promoted from Double-A at the end of May. He owns a hefty 8.03 ERA over 12 1/3 innings.

To clear room on the 25-man roster, the Dodgers optioned right-hander Josh Ravin to Triple-A, according to the Los Angeles Times. Ravin holds a 6.43 ERA through seven appearances this season with the Dodgers.


Dodgers RP Josh Ravin earns win in MLB debut on Tuesday

(6/3/2015) Dodgers right-hander Josh Ravin made his big-league debut on Tuesday night, and was the winning pitcher in the 9-8 victory over the Rockies.

Ravin, who had been recalled just prior to the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader, struck out the only batter he faced in the eighth inning. The Dodgers were down 8-5 at that point, but they rallied to score four runs in the ninth to earn Ravin the victory. 

"I'll sleep with the ball, I know that," Ravin said, per MLB.com. "It's been a long time. I didn't sleep last night. It's still settling in."

Ravin, 27, has spent 10 seasons in the minor leagues between the Reds and Dodgers systems. So far this season, Ravin made 14 relief appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma. He owns a 2.25 ERA and a 30:8 K:BB ratio over 20 innings pitched.


Dodgers call up Daniel Coulombe, Josh Ravin on Tuesday

Both pitchers will be available for Tuesday's Game 2 matchup at Colorado. Coulombe has a 9.00 ERA in one inning this season, while Ravin has never pitched in the majors. 


Dodgers send pitching prospect Julio Urias to minor-league camp

(3/14/2015) Dodgers top pitching prospect Julio Urias has been assigned to minor-league camp as a part of the team's first wave of cuts this spring, reports MLB.com.

Urias, along with Chris Anderson, Ryan Buchter and Josh Ravin were all sent down. Although Urias is considered the top prospect for Los Angeles, he will begin his season in the minors. 

"Our standard answer right now is that we won’t see him (in 2015). He's 18," manager Don Mattingly said last month. "Nobody wants to retard his development at all. He’s moving forward. He had (87 2/3) innings last year. He’ll get more this year. There’s a plan to continue to build his innings and get him ready for the big leagues."

(10/23/2013) The Brewers outrighted pitcher Josh Ravin to Triple-A Nashville Wednesday, clearing a spot on the 40-man roster.

Ravin has only pitched in the Reds organization but latched on with the Brewers after being designated for assignment in September. He went 1-3 with a 5.82 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 48:38 K:BB ratio in 51 innings between Double-A and Triple-A in 2013.

(9/16/2013) The Cincinnati Reds have designated two players for assignment Monday, the team's PR staff reports. Right-handed pitchers Josh Ravin and Kyle Lotzkar have been jettisoned off the 40-man roster to make room for Johnny Cueto and Sean Marshall to return. 

The 25-year-old Ravin posted a 5.82 ERA in 51 innings of relief between Double-A and Triple-A this season. The 23-year-old Lotzkar has gone 1-3 with a 8.05 ERA over 33 appearances between Class A Bakersfield and Double-A Pensacola.

(3/12/2013) The Reds made their first big cuts of the 2013 spring training season on Tuesday and among those optioned to Triple-A Louisville were starting pitcher candidates Tony Cingrani and Daniel Corcino. Pitchers Kyle Lotzkar and Josh Ravin were optioned to Double-A Pensacola. Pitcher Carlos Contreras and outfielder Yorman Rodriguez were sent to Class A Bakersfield, while pitcher Ismael Guillon was optioned to Class A Dayton. Several others were reassigned to minor league camp and they are as follows: RHP Nick Christiani, RHP Chad Rogers, C Nevin Ashley, IF Kristopher Negron and OF Ryan LaMarre.
