Reds reveal September callups

(9/1/2014) The Reds announced their September callups on Monday. Before making the moves, the team transferred Homer Bailey to the 60-day disabled list, ending his season. The team called up Carlos Contreras, Daniel Corcino, Jake Elmore, David Holmberg, J.J. Hoover, Tucker Barnhart, Donald Lutz, Yorman Rodriguez, Jason Bourgeois and Ryan Dennick.


Reds shake up bullpen prior to Thursday's game

(8/21/2014) The Reds have optioned J.J. Hoover and Carlos Contreras to Triple-A prior to Thursday's game, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer

Pedro Villarreal and David Holmberg have been called up to take their roster spots. Holmberg will get the start for Cincinnati Thursday. 


Carlos Contreras allows two runs, leaves with apparent injury

(8/21/2014) Reds pitcher Carlos Contreras was removed from Wednesday's game against the Cardinals with an apparent injury.

Contreras allowed two earned runs on two hits and two walks in two-thirds of an inning, but appeared to misstep on a pitch and was taken out. Manager Mike Matheny didn't give an update on the pitcher's status after the game.


Curtis Partch, Carlos Contreras called up from Triple-A

(7/11/2014) The Reds recalled pitchers Curtis Partch and Carlos Contreras from Triple-A Louisville Friday.

Contreras was sent down to Louisville Thursday, while Partch has not pitched with the Reds since he was sent down in May.

(7/10/2014) The Reds optioned pitcher Carlos Contreras to Triple-A Louisville Thursday, to make room for the recall of infielder Kristopher Negron.

Contreras appeared in three games out of the bullpen for the Reds, allowing one run in 4 1/3 innings.

Contreras has a 2.70 ERA over 20 innings in the minors. He'll take the roster spot of Roger Bernadina, who was sent down Saturday.

Lotzkar among Reds' cuts

(3/12/2013) The Reds made their first big cuts of the 2013 spring training season on Tuesday and among those optioned to Triple-A Louisville were starting pitcher candidates Tony Cingrani and Daniel Corcino. Pitchers Kyle Lotzkar and Josh Ravin were optioned to Double-A Pensacola. Pitcher Carlos Contreras and outfielder Yorman Rodriguez were sent to Class A Bakersfield, while pitcher Ismael Guillon was optioned to Class A Dayton. Several others were reassigned to minor league camp and they are as follows: RHP Nick Christiani, RHP Chad Rogers, C Nevin Ashley, IF Kristopher Negron and OF Ryan LaMarre.
