Rangers sign lefty Justin Marks

(6/20/2014) The Rangers have claimed southpaw Justin Marks off waivers from Oakland.

Marks had only been in the Oakland organization for two weeks. He had pitched 3 2/3 shutout innings in relief for Triple-A Sacramento, but was far less effective earlier in the year with the Kansas City Triple-A team in Omaha, for which he compiled a 5.64 ERA.

(6/6/2014) Left-hander Justin Marks has been acquired by the Athletics and sent to Triple-A Sacramento.

Marks, who was designated for assignment by Kansas City on Monday, pitched in one game this season for the Royals and gave up three runs and three walks in two innings.

(4/17/2014) The Royals recalled left-hander Justin Marks from Triple-A Omaha on Thursday, according to the Kansas City Star. He is expected to replace Lorenzo Cain, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list.

(3/14/2014) The Royals have sent three pitchers packing, including southpaw Justin Marks, who has been demoted to Triple-A Omaha. Righties Scott Alexander and Everett Teaford have been assigned to minor league camp.

Teaford punched his ticket by giving up five earned runs on four hits and two walks in a loss to Cleveland on Thursday.
