Zach Collier clears waivers, sent to Double-A Reading

(6/30/2014) The Phillies announced Monday that outfielder Zach Collier has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Double-A Reading, MLB.com reports.

Collier was designated for assignment Monday to clear a 40-man roster spot. The former first-round pick has hit .228/.307/.316 in 136 at-bats with Reading this season.


Carlos Ruiz's concussion opens room for Koyie Hill

(6/27/2014) The Phillies purchased the contract of catcher Koyie Hill from Triple-A Lehigh Valley Friday, to take the place of Carlos Ruiz, who was placed on the 7-day concussion disabled list.

Zach Collier was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for the Phillies.

Ramirez, Joe Savery and Kyle Simon, catcher Tommy Joseph, third baseman Cody Asche, outfielder Zach Collier and second baseman Michael Martinez.
