Yankees trade two prospects to Mariners for OF Dustin Ackley

(7/30/2015) The Mariners have finally given up on left fielder Dustin Ackley, whom they have traded to the Yankees for outfield prospect Ramon Flores for right-handed reliever Jose Ramirez, per CBSSports Baseball Insider Jon Heyman

Ackley has been a disappointment since his arrival in the big leagues, but his left-handed power bat could produce considering the short right-field porch at Yankee Stadium. He owns a poor .215/.270/.306 slash line this season and has just two hits in his last 15 at-bats.

Ramirez, who has pitched in 11 games for the Yankees over the past two seaons, boasts a 2.90 ERA with 56 strikeouts in 49 innings this year at Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre.

Flores has compiled a .286/.377/.417 slash line for the same team in 2015.


Yankees demote RP Nick Rumbelow, OF Ramon Flores

(7/8/2015) The return of Jacoby Ellsbury and Andrew Miller from injuries have motivated the Yankees to option right-handed reliever Nick Rumbelow and outfielder Ramon Flores to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre.

Rumbelow performed well in his brief stint in the bigs, allowing one run on one hit in 3 1/3 innings. Flores batted .212 in 12 games.

Flores, who was recalled from Triple-A on Friday, will hit from the sixth spot in the lineup.

Flores is hitting .241 in 29 at-bats with the Yankees this season.

New York also recalled Gregorio Petit from Triple-A and cleared a roster spot by demoting outfielder Taylor Dugas to Triple-A.


Stephen Drew to paternity list among Yankees moves Tuesday

(6/23/2015) The Yankees announced Tuesday second baseman Stephen Drew was placed on the paternity list. The team also optioned outfielder Ramon Flores to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

To take their spots on the roster, pitcher Bryan Mitchell and infielder Jose Pirela were recalled from Triple-A.


Yankees place Mason Williams on DL, call up Ramon Flores

(6/21/2015) The Yankees placed Mason Williams on the 15-day disabled list, the team announced on Sunday. 

Williams left Friday's game after injuring his shoulder. An MRI on Saturday was clear, but the team placed him on the DL anyway. 

Williams was hitting .286 in 21 at bats with the Yankees before the injury. 

To replace him, the Yankees  recalled OF Ramon Flores from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Flores was hitting .297 with six home runs and 21 RBI at Scranton. 


Yankees OF Ramon Flores sent back to Triple-A

(6/10/2015) The Yankees have optioned outfielder Ramon Flores to Triple-A Scranton, the team announced on Wednesday. The move was made to clear room on the roster for Brendan Ryan, who was activated off the disabled list.

Flores was decent in his first taste of the Major Leagues. In 26 at-bats, he collected seven hits and scored three runs, though he failed to record a walk. 


Yankees OF Ramon Flores makes MLB debut on Saturday

(5/30/2015) Yankees' Ramon Flores is making his Major League debut, as he is in Saturday's starting lineup against the Tigers. Flores will start in left field and bat seventh for manager Joe Girardi.

Flores was promoted from Triple-A on Friday to replace the injured Slade Heathcott. Flores had four home runs and 15 RBI in 42 games with Scranton.

(5/29/2015) The Yankees placed center fielder Slade Heathcott on the 15-day disabled list on Friday. Heathcott was scratched from Thursday's game with a grade-two quad strain. 

To replace him on the roster, the Yankees called up outfielder Ramon Flores , who was hitting .294 with four home runs and 15 RBI at Triple-A Scranton.

(3/29/2015) The Yankees optioned pitcher Bryan Mitchell and outfielder Ramon Flores to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Sunday while reassigning eight players to minor-league camp.

Mitchell allowed six earned runs in 7 1/3 innings this spring. Flores hit .206/.270/.412 with two home runs in 34 spring at-bats.

In addition to the options, the Yankees reassigned catchers Francisco Arcia and Kyle Higashioka, infielders Cole Figueroa and Jonathan Galvez, outfielder Slade Heathcott and pitchers Kyle Davies, Jacob Lindgren and Nick Rumbelow to minor-league camp.


Yankees take 12 players off spring roster

Outfielder Ramon Flores was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, while Francisco Arcia, Tyler Austin, Bruce Billings, Robert Coello, Brian Gordon, Corban Joseph, Mark Montgomery, Pete O'Brien, Jose Pirela, Mason Williams and Chase Whitley were reassigned to minor-league camp.

Turley among Yankees cuts

(3/11/2013) Yankees catcher Austin Romine was the first significant cut of the spring for New York on Monday, reports the Journal News. Romine was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre along with LHP Francisco Rondon and RHPs Dellin Betances and Brett Marshall. The team also optioned LHPs Manny Banuelos and Nik Turley, RHP Jose Ramirez and OF Ramon Flores to Double-A Trenton. New York also reassigned pitcher Chase Whitley, catcher J.R. Murphy and first baseman Luke Murton to minor league camp.
