Yankees send Matt Tracy outright to Triple-A

(6/5/2015) The Yankees announced that left-hander Matt Tracy was outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday, per the team's official website. Tracy pitched only two innings for the big-league club this season.

(4/22/2015) The Yankees announced Wednesday they claimed pitcher Matt Tracy off waivers from the Marlins. He was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Tracy was designated for assignment by the Yankees in mid-April. He was claimed by the Marlins on April 18 before he was designated for assignment Tuesday.


Marlins callup pitcher Nick Masset, option Jose Urena

(4/21/2015) The Marlins have called up pitcher Nick Masset from Triple-A and optioned pitcher Jose Urena back to the minors, the team announced Tuesday.

Urena was called up last week when David Phelps was placed on paternity leave. He worked three innings in two appearances, allowing three runs on four hits. Masset threw 45 innings in 2014 for the Rockies, posting a 5.80 ERA in 51 appearances.

The team has also designated Matt Tracy for assignment. Tracy made one appearance, allowing three runs on two hits for the Marlins.


Marlins move Jose Fernandez to 60-day DL

(4/18/2015) The Marlins moved starting pitcher Jose Fernandez to the 60-day disabled list on Saturday. 

Fernandez was on the 15-day DL with an elbow injury and expected to be out until June. The move to the 60-day gives the Marlins a spot on the 40-man roster to add LHP Matt Tracy

(4/18/2015) The Marlins claimed left-hander Matt Tracy off waivers from the Yankees on Saturday, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Tracy, 26, pitched two innings for the Yankees this season before he was designated for assignment on Sunday.

(4/12/2015) The Yankees made some pitching moves Sunday, signing right-handed pitcher Kyle Davies and selecting him from Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre while designating left-handed pitcher Matt Tracy, per MLB.com. 

Davies, who last pitched in the majors with the Royals in 2011, has a career 43-65 record with a 5.59 ERA. Tracy was recalled Saturday to help provide bullpen relief after Friday's 19-inning marathon, and pitched two innings in his major league debut, allowing three unearned runs.

(4/11/2015) The Yankees added pitcher Matt Tracy to the 25-man and 40-man rosters Saturday, optioning pitcher Chasen Shreve to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and transferring pitcher Ivan Nova to the 60-day disabled list.

Tracy will give the Yankees a fresh arm after Friday's 19-inning barn-burner. Shreve tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings Friday and will likely be back with the Yankees within the next two weeks. Nova is working his way back from Tommy John surgery.


Yankees re-assign Mark Montgomery and Matt Tracy

(3/20/2013) The Yankees announced Wednesday that pitchers Mark Montgomery and Matt Tracy have been re-assigned to minor-league camp.

Montgomery made seven appearances for the Yankees this spring, allowing two earned runs in 5 2/3 innings but walked six batters and allowed six hits. Tracy surrendered four earned runs in his three innings of work over three appearances.
