Yankees send RP Nick Goody back down to Triple-A

(8/26/2015) Following Wednesday's loss to the Astros, the Yankees optioned right-hander Nick Goody back to Triple-A. Goody was recalled prior to the game, and pitched a scoreless inning of the 6-2 defeat.

The Yankees are expected to make a corresponding roster move in time for Thursday's game.

(8/26/2015) Yankess reliever Nick Rumbelow has been optioned down to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Rumbelow pitched in Tuesday's 15-1 rout by the Astros, and he allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits in his inning of work. 

In need of a fresh arm in the bullpen, the Yankees recalled fellow right-hander Nick Goody from Triple-A as a corresponding move.

(8/13/2015) There was no good news for Nick Goody on Thursday. One day after his promotion from Scranton-Wilkes Barre, the reliever was optioned back to the same team by the Yankees.

Goody did get to pitch during his short stint. He hurled a scoreless, hitless inning Wednesday night in Cleveland and has allowed one run on 2 1/3 innings in three appearances this season.

(8/12/2015) The Yankees selected the contract of pitcher Chris Capuano and recalled pitcher Nick Goody from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

To clear two spots on the roster, pitcher Branden Pinder was optioned to Triple-A and infielder/outfielder Garrett Jones was designated for assignment.

(8/1/2015) The Yankees have recalled Nick Rumbelow from Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre and optioned fellow reliever Nick Goody to the same team.

Rumbelow hurled 3 1/3 innings for the Yankees in late June and early July and allowed one run. Goody got into two games after his Thursday call-up and gave up a run in 1 1/3 innings.


Yankees promote two relievers, send down starter

(7/30/2015) In a swap of pitchers, the Yankees have promoted Bryan Mitchell and Nick Goody from Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre and sent down Caleb Cotham, per MLB.com.

Mitchell pitched in six games for the Yankees in June and July, compiling a 2.89 ERA and fanning nine in 9 1/3 innings. Goody, who has yet to pitch in the big leagues, has been tearing it up in the minors. He has struck out 70 in 48 1/3 innings and owns a 1.68 ERA.

Cotham earned a spot start for the Yankees on Wednesday and performed well before his removal in the second inning. He gave up two hits and fanned four.


Yankees recall Diego Moreno; option Nick Goody to Triple-A

(7/28/2015) The Yankees recalled pitcher Diego Moreno and recalled pitcher Nick Goody to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday, the team announced.

Goody was promoted to New York on Saturday and had not seen any game action. Moreno will be in his second stint with the team this season.

(7/25/2015) The Yankees added RHP Nick Goody to the active roster, the team announced on Saturday. 

The pitching prospect has split the season between Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Scranton, going 1-2 with a six saves and a 1.68 ERA. 

To make room on the active roster, the Yankees optioned RHP Branden Pinder to Triple-A. Pinder had a 2.92 ERA in 11 games with the Yankees.

To open a spot on the 40-man roster, the Yankees designated infielder Gregorio Petit for assignment. He was hitting .167 in 20 games with the Yankees.

(3/15/2015) The Yankees reassigned seven players to minor league camp on Sunday. 

RHP Luis Severino , who struck out five batters in 2.2 innings but had a 6.75 ERA, was one of the players sent to the minors. Catcher Trent Garrison (two strikeouts in three hitless at bats in spring games), RHP Nick Goody (four strikeouts in three one-hit shutout innings), catcher Juan Graterol (no spring at bats), LHP James Pazos (5.40 ERA), RHP Diego Moreno (6.75 ERA) and LHP Tyler Webb (6.00 ERA) were also reassigned.

(4/22/2013) Yankees minor-league reliever Nick Goody, a sixth-round pick in last year's draft, underwent Tommy John surgery, the Journal News reports Monday. Poised to move quickly through the system, Goody will be down until at least this time next season.
