Giants add Travis Ishikawa, Juan Perez

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(7/29/2014) The Giants announced several roster moves Tuesday, with first baseman Travis Ishikawa and outfielder Juan Perez joining the team from Triple-A Fresno.

To make room for the two batters, the team has designated second baseman Tony Abreu for assignment and optioned first baseman Adam Duvall.

Ishikawa hit .206/.263/.382 in 34 at-bats with the Pirates before being released in April. The Giants picked him up a few days later, and he has hit .271/.349/.446 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI in 240 at-bats with Fresno.

Perez has had a few stints with the Giants this season, hitting .156/.208/.267 in 45 at-bats. He has performed much better with Fresno, hitting .333/.397/.496 with three home runs, 17 RBI and seven stolen bases in 117 at-bats.

(7/21/2014) The Giants announced Monday they placed first baseman Brandon Belt on the 7-day disabled list due to a concussion. Infielder Adam Duvall was recalled from Triple-A Fresno to take Belt's roster spot.

Adam Duvall sent down Thursday

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(7/3/2014) The Giants optioned first baseman Adam Duvall back to Triple-A Fresno following Thursday's game against the Cardinals.

The move was made in order to free up a roster spot for the return of Brandon Belt from the disabled list. Duvall went 1 for 4 Thursday an ended up hitting .167/.167/.389 in 18 at-bats with the Giants.

Adam Duvall might just be stopgap Fantasy option

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(6/25/2014) It was very interesting to see the Giants called on prospect Adam Duvall after placing outfielder Angel Pagan on the disabled list Wednesday. It's particularly interesting since Duvall is a corner infielder and not an outfielder, but it seems the Giants could start giving Michael Morse more time in the outfield and try Duvall at first base while Brandon Belt is still on the disabled list.

The timing is also good since Duvall was a player featured in last week's Prospects Report. When I wrote about Duvall, I wasn't really anticipating an imminent callup. But here he is, so can he help your Fantasy lineup?

Duvall is not a very strong defender, but man can this kid hit. He already has 23 home runs this season and slugged 30 home runs in 2012. He took a tumble down the prospect rankings last season after a so-so campaign, but he definitely deserved a pass because he was diagnosed with diabetes and struggled to adjust to an insulin pump last season. Well, Duvall is back on track and is a serious power threat. He had a .297/.360/.620/.980 slash line with Triple-A Fresno this season.

I could see Fantasy owners in deeper formats using a flier on Duvall, but he might just be a stopgap option since Belt is expected back in a few weeks. Duvall could stick around as a backup corner infielder to Belt and third baseman Pablo Sandoval, but it might be better for his development if he returns to the minors to play regularly. Shallow league Fantasy owners don't need to rush to waivers at this time to add the 25-year-old slugger.

Duvall has hit .297, with 23 home runs, over 263 at-bats in Triple-A. Duvall will replace Angel Pagan on the active roster.

(3/12/2014) The Giants made 11 cuts Wednesday, including optioning outfielder Gary Brown, infielder Adam Duvall and pitchers Jose De Paula and Michael Kickham to Triple-A Fresno.

The team also optioned pitchers Kendry Flores and Hunter Strickland to high Class A San Jose. Catcher Andrew Susac, infielder Chris Dominguez and pitchers Jason Berken, Mitch Lively and Mason Tobin were re-assigned to minor-league camp.

Adam Duvall added to 40-man roster

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11/22/2013) The Giants have purchased the contract of third baseman Adam Duvall from Double-A Richmond Friday. Duvall batted .252 with 17 home runs and 58 RBI in Richmond last season.

Giants add four to 40-man roster

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(11/21/2013) The Giants added outfielder Gary Brown, third baseman Adam Duvall and pitchers Kendry Flores and Hunter Strickland to the 40-man roster Wednesday.

Brown hit .231/.286/.375 with 13 home runs, 50 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 558 at-bats with Triple-A Fresno last season. Duvall hit .252/.320/.465 with 17 home run and 58 RBI in 385 at-bats with Double-A Richmond.

Flores went 10-6 with a 2.73 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 137:17 K:BB ratio in 141 2/3 innings over 22 starts with Class A Augusta. Strickland went 1-0 with a 0.86 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB ratio in 21 innings with high Class A San Jose.

Giants ship 20 players to minors

by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com
(3/15/2013) The San Francisco Giants completed another round of roster cuts Friday, optioning pitchers Dan Otero, Jake Dunning, Chris Heston and Sandy Rosario, shortstops Ehire Adrianza and Nick Noonan and outfielders Roger Kieschnick and Juan Perez to Triple-A Fresno. Pitcher Edwin Escobar was sent to Class A San Jose. The team also reassigned Brett Bochy, Boof Bonser, Steve Edlefsen, Heath Hembree, Michael Kickham, Mitch Lively, Shane Loux, Ricky Oropesa, Adam Duvall, Brock Bond and Gary Brown to its minor-league camp.

Duvall a player to watch

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(2/11/2013) MLB.com reports the 2013 season will be a key year for Giants third base prospect Adam Duvall. The 2010 11th-round pick clubbed 30 homers at Class A last season, but he hit just .258 with a .327 on-base percentage. "He's a guy to watch and it's going to be a big year for him, whether he turns the page and continues to develop," Giants director of player development Fred Stanley said.
