Padres swap Huston Street to Angels for minor-leaguers

(7/18/2014) The Padres have traded reliever Huston Street to the Angels for a package of four players, according to ESPN.

Street and relief prospect Trevor Grott will head to Los Angeles. In return, the Angels will give up infielder Taylor Lindsay, reliever R.J. Alvarez, shortstop Jose Rondon and right-hander Elliot Morris. 


R.J. Alvarez's elbow 'checks out fine'

(5/29/2014) Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto told reporters that pitching prospect R.J. Alvarez's elbow "checked out fine" on Thursday, the Los Angeles Times reports. Alvarez was shut down due to elbow tenderness and sent to Anaheim in mid-May. He remains without a timetable for return.

(5/21/2014) Angels pitching prospect R.J. Alvarez was placed on the minor-league disabled list with elbow tenderness Wednesday, MLB.com reports.

The Angels are being cautious with the prospect, who could be in line to make his major-league debut this season if he can remain healthy. Alvarez has made 12 relief appearances with Double-A Arkansas, pitching 19 scoreless innings while striking out 28 batters and walking five.
