Rangers option Ben Rowen to Triple-A

(7/4/2014) The Rangers optioned reliever Ben Rowen to Triple-A Round Rock Friday, to clear a roster space. Rowen posted a 4.15 ERA in 8 2/3 innings over eight appearances with the Rangers.

(6/23/2014) Since being recalled from the minors June 11, Rangers reliever Ben Rowen has thrown 5 1/3 shutout innings, striking out four and walking none. "I didn't know we were going to get that much out of him," manager Ron Washington told MLB.com.

Rowen had a chance to make the team out of spring training, but that bid was derailed by biceps tendinitis. "Now that he's arrived, the submariner is pitching as if he'd like to stick around," the report said.

(6/11/2014) The Rangers announced Wednesday they recalled reliever Ben Rowen from Triple-A Round Rock after placing Tanner Scheppers (elbow) on the disabled list. Rowen was 1-0 with two saves and a 2.75 ERA in 16 relief outings for Round Rock.

(3/12/2014) Rangers pitching prospect Ben Rowen, whose progress this spring was hindered by biceps tendinitis, was sent down Wednesday to Triple-A Round Rock. Also banished to Round Rock was fellow reliever Wilmer Font .

The team also announced that shortstop Luis Sardinas and pitcher Lisalverto Bonilla were demoted to Double-A and shortstop Rougned Odor and pitcher Nate Adcock have been reassigned.

(2/12/2014) Rangers pitcher Ben Rowen is dealing with some bicep tendinitis that will cause him to get a late start to his spring-training schedule, ESPNDallas.com reports.

Rowen isn't expected to miss too much time while recovering from the injury. He made 51 appearances between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock last season, going 6-1 with a 0.69 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 58:17 K:BB ratio in 65 2/3 innings.


Rangers add three to 40-man roster

(11/21/2013) The Rangers added infielder Luis Sardinas and pitchers Lisalverto Bonilla and Ben Rowen to the 40-man roster Wednesday.

Sardinas hit .288/.340/.347 with two home runs, 46 RBI and 32 stolen bases between high Class A Myrtle Beach and Double-A Frisco. Bonilla went 7-5 with a 4.79 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 106:33 K:BB ratio in 73 1/3 innings between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock. Rowen went 6-1 with a 0.69 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 58:17 K:BB ratio in 65 2/3 innings between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock.


Rangers send out four players

(3/23/2013) The Texas Rangers further pared down their roster Saturday, moving pitchers Ben Rowen and Lisalverto Bonilla and outfielder Yangervis Solarte to their minor-league camp. Texas also released catcher Konrad Schmidt after he failed to land a backup position.
