Jeff Francoeur's promotion among Padres transactions

(7/23/2014) The Padres are making some changes to their rosters throughout the organization, according to MLB.com. One of the bigger transactions will be promoting veteran outfielder Jeff Francoeur from Triple-A El Paso to the major-league roster.

Outfield prospect Rymer Liriano is being promoted from Double-A San Antonio to El Paso, and outfielder Alex Dickerson will be promoted from Class A Eugene to San Antonio.

(4/4/2014) Padres outfield prospect Alex Dickerson will lose this season after undergoing ankle surgery, per the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Dickerson injured the ankle during spring training. The first diagnosis showed a severe sprain that was expected to keep him out only just two weeks.

(3/23/2014) Padres first baseman Alex Dickerson took a sigh of relief Saturday after an MRI on his severely sprained left ankle showed no further damage, MLB.com reports.

"There's nothing torn," Dickerson said. "So we'll move on from there."

Dickerson will likely miss up to two weeks. He is expected to start his season at Triple-A El Paso once he's healthy.

Dickerson injured his left ankle last weekend and has been diagnosed with a severe sprain, though his status moving forward is not yet known.

Dickerson injured his left ankle during a warmup drill over the weekend. The severity of the sprain will likely knock him out for the remainder of camp.

(3/17/2014) Padres infielder Alex Dickerson was scheduled for an MRI on his sprained left ankle Monday, MLB.com reports. Dickerson suffered the injury during a warm-up drill.

"We were doing bounds and I went up and when I came down, I came down with my toe down and it caught a little divot in the grass," Dickerson told MLB.com. "I guess I caught it wrong with all my weight going in the wrong direction. It folded in and cracked. It was painful. I don't think I could do that again if I tried."

Dickerson said Monday that the pain had lessened and hopes the MRI reveals a simple sprain. He's 7 for 25 with two home runs, seven RBI and four walks this spring.

(3/16/2014) Padres outfielder Alex Dickerson is expected to miss more than a few days because of a left ankle sprain, per U-T San Diego. Dickerson is batting .280 (7 for 25) with two home runs, three doubles and seven RBI in 14 spring games.

Padres and Pirates make two-for-one deal

(11/25/2013) The Padres traded reliever Miles Mikolas and outfielder Jaff Decker to the Pirates in exchange for minor league outfielder Alex Dickerson on Monday.

Mikolas appeared in only two games for the Padres in 2013, but as a rookie in 2012, he posted a 3.62 ERA in 25 appearances.

Decker made his major league debut this season, going 4 for 26 (.154) with one home run.

The 23-year-old Dickerson played for Double-A Altoona, batting .288 with 17 home runs, 68 RBI and 10 stolen bases.
