Phillies option two to Triple-A, send four to minor-league camp

(3/8/2014) The Phillies reassigned outfielders Kelly Dugan ,Aaron Altherr, Leandro Castro and catcher Sebastian Valle to minor-league camp. In another transaction, pitchers Michael Stutes and Luis Garcia were optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia reports.

Phillies sign four to minor-league deals

(11/16/2013) The Phillies have signed outfielders Clete Thomas and Leandro Castro and pitchers Shawn Camp and Cesar Jimenez to minor-league deals.

Thomas hit .214/.290/.307 with four home runs and 13 RBI in 290 at-bats with the Twins in 2013. Castro hit .256/.280/.368 with eight home runs, 55 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 438 at-bats with Triple-A Lehigh Valley last season.

Camp made 26 appearanecs with the Cubs last season, going 1-1 with a 7.04 ERA, 1.87 WHIP and 13:9 K:BB ratio in 23 innings. Jimenez made 19 appearances with the Phillies in 2013, going 1-1 with a 3.71 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 11:10 K:BB ratio in 17 innings.
