Mariners sign Xavier Nady to minor-league deal

(5/27/2014) The Mariners have signed first baseman/outfielder Xavier Nady to a minor-league deal, CBSSports.com baseball insider Jon Heyman reports.

An earlier report stated that the two sides were close to a deal, and they have now come to terms. The plan is for Nady to report to Triple-A Tacoma. He went 5 for 37 with three home runs earlier this season with the Padres.
