(6/24/2013) Reds outfield prospect Phillip Ervin is off to a blistering start to his pro career. It was just a few weeks ago the Reds made Ervin the 27th pick in the 2013 MLB draft, and the Samford is batting .412 (7 for 17) through his first four pro games.
Ervin has managed three multi-hit games and collected his first home run and totaled four RBI Saturday for Rookie League Billings. He has a total of five RBI and two stolen bases through four games.
"It's a lot like every other day. It's pretty much like college," Ervin said, per MLB.com. "I'm trying hard and I'm trying not to expect too much, to just play the game and let it come out of my abilities."
