Diamondbacks starting pitcher prospect Aaron Blair probably couldn't have asked for a better start to his pro career. The 2013 first-round pick (36th overall) hasn't allowed a run in his first three starts (nine innings) for Class A Hillsboro.
The right-hander has allowed five hits and three walks, while striking out eight. He allowed just one hit in each of his first two starts and struck out a career-high four batters in three innings July 11.
Blair was considered the 41st-best prospect in the 2013 draft class by Baseball America. Blair was 9-16 with a 3.30 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in three seasons at Marshall. He struck out 8.9 batters per nine innings.
