"I thought that's where it would head last night. He came in today and was about the same."

O's knuckleball prospect tosses no-hitter

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(6/30/2013) Orioles pitching prospect Eddie Gamboa, who has made the transition to becoming a knuckleball pitcher, recorded a no-hitter for Double-A Bowie Sunday during the first game of a doubleheader against Harrisburg.

Pitching seven innings due to the double dip, Gamboa walked three batters with five strikeouts to complete the no-no. His ERA is 3.48 with the Baysox.

Gamboa has seen his struggles in his transition to the knuckleball, but he has been very sharp in his last two starts. He's gone 14 1/3 scoreless innings over that span with just one hit allowed, five walks and 12 strikeouts. He's gone at least seven shutout innings in three of his last four starts with just four total hits allowed in those outings.
