Phillies make a few roster moves Sunday

(6/29/2014) The Phillies announced Sunday they optioned pitcher Luis Garcia to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The team also recalled infielder Andres Blanco from Triple-A, and to clear a spot on the 40-man roster pitcher Sean O'Sullivan was designated for assignment.

(6/28/2014) The Phillies optioned reliever Luis Garcia to Triple-A Lehigh Valley Saturday, after serving as the 26th man on the roster for the team's doubleheader.

Garcia has allowed eight runs in 5 2/3 innings in the majors, on eight hits and eight walks.

Garcia has been dominant in the minors, posting a 0.38 ERA over 23 2/3 innings. He's already been up with the major-league club, and pitched in three games.

Garcia was immediately sent down to the minors following his activation. Garcia has been dealing with a forearm injury. He posted a 15.75 ERA in 4 innings.

(5/24/2014) The Phillies have placed right-hander Luis Garcia on the 15-day disabled list and purchased the contract of fellow pitcher David Buchanan from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Buchanan is set to start against the Dodgers on Saturday.

Garcia has been dealing with a right forearm strain.

The 38-year-old Camp, who had been called up on April 18, gave up two earned runs on seven hits in just 3 1/3 innings.
