Yankees send Aaron Judge to minor league camp

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(3/15/2015) Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge was among three players sent to minor league camp after Sunday's game.

Judge hit .273 with a home run and three RBI for the Yankees this spring.

Infielder Cito Culver , a first-round pick who hit .083 this spring, and outfielder Jake Cave , who hit .500 in 10 at bats, were also sent down following the game.

"Every one of them did their jobs," manager Joe Girardi told NJ.com's Ryan Hatch. "That's the strange thing. I know it's hard for a young player to understand, but long term, we want them to be productive for a long time here."

Yankees aren't tempering expectations on Judge

by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(3/11/2015) When it comes to Aaron Judge, the Yankees are thinking big. The No. 2 prospect in the Yankees system has drawn comparisons to some of baseball's best sluggers from someone who knows about power hitting, per Yankees.com.

"He has power like a guy from the '60s and '70s," Yankee legend Reggie Jackson said, calling Judge "the next great Yankee" in an interview with ESPN.

The 22-year-old outfielder was drafted 32nd by the Yankees in 2013 and after crushing 17 homers in Class A, Judge could begin the season in Double-A, with a fast track ahead.

"There's nothing wrong with dreaming big on a guy, especially a guy like that, that's that big," GM Brian Cashman said.

Phillies showing interest in Severino, Judge from Yankees

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(3/8/2015) The Phillies are showing an interest in pitchers Luis Severino and Aaron Judge from the Yankees, but general manager Brian Cashman said he's never received a "definite request," according to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman.

With Cliff Lee dealing with elbow stiffness, pitching could be at a premium for Philadelphia. Severino is considered New York's top prospect, according to Baseball America, and is considered "close to untouchable," according to FOXSports.com.
